An encourager communicates value that
may be long remembered by the hearer.
In some cases, these words are
the only positive, encouraging
communication that person may
have received in a long time.

God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:10
I am sure that our friends, neighbors, or family members living
in Southeast Texas would agree that it is indeed "good" to see
dry land. Many places in that part of our state received over two
feet of rain in four or five days time and a few places received
twice that much or more (51.88 inches was recorded close to
Crosby, Texas, on Cedar Bayou northeast of Houston). And
many fellow Texans further down the Gulf coast toward Corpus
Christi suffered great loss as Hurricane Harvey's winds wrought
wreckage to houses, schools, and businesses. Many of you are
rightly asking how we can help. Our elders are investigating
where we can as a congregation focus our efforts to aid these folk.
There are several ongoing efforts in our community that you may
want to participate in. But here are a few suggestions of worthy
ministries associated with Churches of Christ, should you wish to
send funds immediately:
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned as king forever.
Psalm 29:10
