BIOGRAPHY OF PACHACUTI• Pachacuti was the son of the eighth Inca King, Viracocha.

• In 1438 an enemy from the north attacked the capital city of Cuzco.

BIOGRAPHY OF PACHACUTI• Viracocha fled, but Pachacuti stayed behind to defend Cuzco and defeated

this northern enemy.

• Due to this courageous victory, Pachacuti became the ninth king of the Incan Empire.

• At first, Pachacuti concentrated on expanding the Inca Empire.

• When he wanted to conquer a kingdom, he first sent

messengers to tell the local rulers about all of the benefits

of being part of the Incan Empire and asked them to join

material.
