The first group meeting for families preparing children for

ST. THERESE PRAYER GROUP: We will continue to pray for the families of Blessed Sacrament all year. Novena intention for October 10 - 18: St. Therese of the Child Jesus, please bring to our Father our re-quest that all the members of our parish be given the means and strength that they need to make room for the prayer time that the Father desires for them whether in private, with fam-ily or in groups. Mark us all who seek to follow Your Son and live the best possible life in Christ.

THANK YOU to Ron and Suzie Miller for the donation of the pumpkins, corn stalks, coloured corn and assorted gourds. The flowers we purchased are beautiful and the straw bales go well with our theme.

TAKE A STAND FOR LIFE: Our community will take part in 40 Days for Life: a ground breaking, coordinat-ed international mobilization. We pray that, with God’s help, this will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city and beyond. Blessed Sacrament asks parishioners who are able, to pray at the vigil site for an hour on our parish's day, October 22. You are also welcome to pray there on any other day. To sign up for our parish day, please contact Rosel-la Mac Neil at 613-526-0062 or add your contact info for your chosen hour on the sign-up sheet at the church entrance. The vigil site is the west side of Bank Street, between Sparks & Queen, across from the Ottawa Morgentaler Clinic at 65 Bank. Vigil hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

COFFEE SUNDAY: Join us downstairs in the Parish Hall next Sunday, October 26 after the 9:00 and 11:00 Mass-es. Please do bring some goodies to share if you can (fruit, baked goods) and enjoy some socializing with others. A few volunteers to help with set up before mass and quick cleanup following the social time would be most appreciated. On Coffee Sunday, please bring your food items directly downstairs when you arrive for mass. See you then! (Do check the back tables of the church this Sunday for sign-up sheets).

ALL SAINTS HALLOWEEN PARTY: All families and chil-dren are invited to dress up as their favourite Catholic saint and attend Blessed Sacrament's All Saints Party on October 31st from 6:30 - 8:30pm in the church hall. It's a drop in party for all ages including a pot luck goodie table. They'll be Saint games, candy, food and tons of fun! Bring the whole family and dress as a Saint. PARISH FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION Collection on: October 12 - $ 3, 917. 10 Help support our parish through the use of our ‘Pre Authorized Donation’ (PAD) service or by using a boxed set of envelopes. Use of PAD makes donations easier and consistent, benefitting the parishioner and the parish. PAD forms or envelope boxes can be picked up in the foyer of the church. These are our primary source of support for the parish. Please remember Blessed Sacra-ment Parish in your WILL and we remind everyone to include our Parish in the bequeath section of their obituary notice.

WIDOW AND WIDOWERS SOCIAL GROUP: The next meet-ing will be on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6pm at the Bella Vista Restaurant on the corner of Bank St. and Alta Vista Rd. We hope you can join us. By designating the Multifaith Housing Initiative and the Bruye re Village as bene-ficiaries of this year’s Charity Dinner, Archbishop Prendergast hopes that we will become aware of the urgent need to pro-vide quality affordable housing to our elders and those with a lower income living in Ottawa. EVENING FOR MARRIAGE PREPARATION FACILITATORS: The Archdiocese of Ottawa invites all those involved in or those interested in being involved in the facilitation of mar-riage preparation courses to an evening of brainstorming and discussion. November 13, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Diocesan Centre, 1247 Kilborn Place. This is the first of a series of events aimed at providing ongoing support and formation and this session will be used to determine key topics for upcoming workshops and presentations regarding marriage prepara-tion.
