Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos H. S. Board Meeting minutes of 10.10.2019 Welcome: Chair Evelyn Rivera Roll Call. Present: Angela Acevedo, Jaime Moctezuma, Evelyn Rivera and Mike Staudenmaier. Milagros De La Rosa is absent. Quorum achieved. Approval of Agenda: Mike Staudenmaier moved to approve the Agenda. Jaime Moctezuma seconded. Vote: Approved unanimously Approval of minutes: Mike Staudenmaier moved to approve the Minutes. Jaime Moctezuma seconded. Vote: Approved unanimously Public Participation No Public Participation. Principals Report Principal Report: Enrollment has been achieved. School is focusing on engaging students personally by focusing on the communication. The school has become a Level 1 school. Executive Directors Presentation: E.D. prepared a PowerPoint presentation on the capital campaign for 2700 Haddon. He was only able to present the history of prior campaigns and the need for a different approach with a solid business plan. An update will be provided at the next meeting. Fiscal Report Fiscal Report: In comparison to the previous year, PACHS is in a better position in terms of revenue and cash flow. The school body is still waiting on a fairly substantial amount of payments from the Alternative Schools Network. There is an estimated 18-month consolidation time for the greenhouse loan. In June, there was no prepared budget. There is no budget to present tonight. It was unanimously agreed upon to present the budget during the meeting in January 2020. New Business: Fund Raiser: Michael Oquendo’s Non-For-Profit Jingle Jam. The buy in is $300. The aim is to make $2500 in one night. Takes place in Thursday, December 12 th 2019. $20-$25. The goal is to sell 100 tickets. Youth Summit: Youth Empowerment Summit will be at Roberto Clemente Community Academy. Presentations will be held on Expungement, Money Management. There will be a job fair and a table for Campos to perform recruiting. Definite Dozen Schedule: Executive Director Garcia explained the concept of the Definite Dozen and opened the vote for the board members to host the Definite Dozen. Mr. Moctezuma said that the hospital starts to slow down around January as well as one in December. Board Chair Rivera voted for the Definite Dozen to resume in January. Angela says she would be able to host for December. Candidate for the Board: Milagros Fernandez is being considered for the position of a new board member. She received very high praise
