Hybrid Schedule Due to COVID: QUARTER 1● 2 days in person● 3 days virtual● In person days:

COVID Related Health NewsThe NASD Health Services Department has implemented a Return to School
Plan that follows the guidance of the CDC and the PA Dept. of Health.
● Parents will be asked to monitor symptoms at home prior to their child attending school.
● Should your child show signs of COVID-19 or be in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, please contact the health office immediately after contacting your child’s Primary Care Physician.
● Should your child be suspected to show signs of COVID-19 while in school, you will be contacted to pick them up from school as soon as possible.
● Parents will be notified by the district if a student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.

Health Services➔ There is a licensed nurse in the building every school day, all school day.➔ Immunizations are to be complete by the first day of school. Mrs. Colucci will contact
you if there are any missing immunizations for your child.➔ Injuries and Illnesses are treated in the health office.➔ Medication administration: In order for prescription or OTC medication to be given
during school hours it must include consent from healthcare provider, start and end date, drug name, dose and frequency, in original container with student’s name, and the signed parent permission on form.
➔ Students may not carry any medications including creams and eye drops. ➔ The health office provides ongoing support to students with chronic illnesses.➔ Annual Mandated Screenings include height, weight, vision and hearing.➔ Student Medication Authorizations Forms come home first week of school. Sign and
return to school ASAP.

We are trained faculty members, school counselors, administrators, and the school nurse.
PURPOSE?
We identify, refer, and support students who experience barriers to learning. Working alongside parents, we create a plan of action and implement strategies to assist
students in achieving success.

WHO?
MTSS Core Team consists of your child’s teacher, principal, MTSS Interventionist, and Reading Specialist.
PURPOSE?
To support students who have been identified as having challenges related to reading instruction. Students receive interventions related to their particular area of need in
hopes of increasing their likelihood for becoming a successful, independent reader.

PBIS Program: PAWS ProgramPositive Behavior Support Program--A positive approach to supporting students in exhibiting desired behaviors.

Students learn exactly how they can exhibit these behaviors in various environments throughout the school, such as cafeteria, playground, hallways, classrooms, etc. They are rewarded with PAWS tickets when “caught” being “PAWSome!” Tickets are used for weekly and monthly incentives and drawings.

Students receive an ID number used as their pin when purchasing lunch. Students may pay with cash, but it is recommended that families load money onto their account using the “Pay For It” website. Envelopes available in office to pay by cash or check.

Students will be creating a variety of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork. All art projects will be inspired by the United States and American Artists.
Kindergarten students receive 30 minutes of art instruction each week.
First-Fifth grade students receive 45 minutes of art instruction each week. Every three weeks, these students will receive an additional hour of Art during the Integrated Arts time. Each year, Bradford Woods Elementary School has an Art Show one evening in the spring. This year, our theme is “BWE under the Sea”.

Health and Physical Education Teacher
Students in grades 1- 5 attend Physical Education once a week for 45 minutes of movement and learning. Kindergarten students attend weekly for 30 minutes.
Students are strongly encouraged to wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing to ensure safe participation.
Students will explore moving and develop their personal fitness through a variety of activities including, but not limited to : obstacle courses, tumbling, dancing, small sided games, jump roping, outdoor adventures, and rollerblading.
In addition to the academic day, fourth and fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate in intramurals after school.

The Bradford Woods Library is a place where students can learn the joy of reading and the
fun of using technology!
All students have Library Class once each week. In Library Class students work on
literacy skills, library skills, research and they learn to use many forms of technology. They
also discuss Internet Safety/Digital Citizenship.
Students check out Library books each week and are expected to return their books the
following week. Students are welcome to come to the Library to get new books anytime, with
the permission of their homeroom teacher.
