From the Pastors Desk

I hope this year is off to a great start for you. I believe that its going to be another great year for Christ Church. In 2018, we will continue good foundations of ministry and take next steps to impact, help, and reach more individuals, families, and groups with the love of God. As we live into our mission to Love God, love and serve others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ we will nurture and challenge each other in our faith journeys and enjoy doing life together. We will seek to build our partnership with Starbuck Middle School and connect with others in the community to let them see Gods love flow through us. I pray that the people of Christ Church and those we connect with in our everyday living will experience meaning, purpose, and hope in deep ways this year.

As we ask the Holy Spirit to empower us for faithful living we remember that God invites us to join Him in the work of ministry, which means we have a part to play as well. May we remain open to the ways God will call to us individually and together as the church for His good work in this New Year. I invite you to be part of what God wants to do through us together as Christ Church, and to do that, consider how you are involved and invested.

1. Get involved. If youre not involved in serving in some aspect of our church, will you please take a step this year? You will experience the benefits of helping others. You will grow as you invest in people. You will expand your community. We all have time and talents we can put to use for Gods work. Check out the pink sheet, this newsletter, the Connection Table and hallway bulletin boards to see whats going on and where you can get involved. To those who already are active beyond worship, THANK YOU!

2. Get invested. To help us resource ministry year round you may want to set up recurring giving. Through a service called Vanco you can set up giving that is easy, safe, and fast using a credit or debit card, or direct bank transfer of funds. Go to www.christchurchracine.com and click on Give to set up your account. Through recurring donations, your gifts and tithe will be regularly given each month as a gift of gratitude to God and a commitment to help make ministry happen. You can also use Vanco to give one time gifts for specific ministry areas. THANK YOU to those who do give sacrificially, your sharing makes a real difference in peoples lives!

Psalm 127:1 says, Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Lets work hard, lets prepare, lets get involved and invested, but let us also ask God to do what only He can do: build His house. Please pray daily for the ministry of Christ Church in 2018.

God Bless, Pastor George J. Kafer

Your Giving Makes a Difference!

In January we were able to transfer some general funds from the close of 2017 to help purchase supplies at Starbuck Middle School in 2018. In doing so we will help teachers have the resources they need for teaching the next generation of our community.

Thank you to those who offer support for vital, life changing ministry.

Christ Church is supporting Starbuck Middle School. This school struggles academically, in staffing, and budget. Please pray for the school staff, students and their families as we seek to encourage staff, supplement supplies, and support kids. In doing so we share Gods love while building relationships in the community.

What Will Your Legacy Be?

Have you considered your legacy; how about continuing to let God use you to transform lives by adding a line to your Will that gives 10% of your estate to Christ Church. Estate funds have helped us with much needed building repairs or improvements so that our building continues to support vital ministry.

Friendship Luncheon

Wed., February 14th & 28th at 12:30 p.m. Make your reservations: Call Billie Stilley at 554-8801.

Apportionment Giving

Christ Church has a history of 100% apportionment giving, allowing us to help transform lives by Gods love. Apportionments provide for ministries that directly help over 50,000 people in Wisconsin and many more beyond. In 2018 our apportionment is $44,484, if we each give faithfully to the general fund and if able a special gift for apportionments, $242 a year per member, we can continue to support connectional ministries and free up more of our general funds to increase outreach and ministry in our local area.

Stewardship Makes a Difference!

Thank you for all the ways you support ministry. This newsletter has examples of how our church is making a difference in peoples lives through your giving! It is good to see people trusting in God and answering His call to give. People are offering themselves to serve and their financial giving (several tithing 10% of income, or working toward tithing)! Check the connection table for Electronic Fund Transfer forms and ways to give of your time and talent as well. As you respond to Gods call in the giving of your time, talent, and resources remember if you have a need contact Pastor George.

If you desire to give to specific ministries beyond your general offering here are some areas: Apportionments,
