Lung Cancer FactsLung cancer kills almost twice as many

women as breast cancer and more than twice as many men as prostate cancer

Lung cancer currently has no effective, widely used early detection test, yet if found early, lung cancer can be treated

The five-year survival rate for lung cancer is currently under 15%

My Elevator Speech“Hi, my name is April Morey and I am one of the

volunteer coordinators for the LUNGevity Breathe Deep 5k, benefiting Lung cancer. This is our first event in Wilmington and we are holding this walk because in October of last year I lost my sister to LC at the age of 37. LC is by far the least funded cancer, yet it kills twice as many people as breast cancer and more than twice as many men with prostate cancer. The five year survival rate is under 15%! I am working hard to honor my sister and others affected by LC in our community and I need your help. Would you consider being a sponsor / volunteer / walker?”
