The upgrade will allow existing road infrastructure to meet expected future traffic demands, and improve safety and accessibility for all road users. Prior to the main construction works commencing in mid-2019, Council will be completing early service works along the roadway and verges of Brownlee Street, between Bancroft Road and Main Beach Road as well as Marine Road. Please see the attached project plan with red circles, indicating where these early service works will occur. These early service works are planned to start from mid-April 2019 to late May 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting. The majority of these works will be undertaken during the day and will take place between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday. Certain critical components of the works will need to be undertaken at night and will generally take place between 7pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday, when traffic volumes are lowest to ensure the safety of motorists and workers and to minimise traffic disruptions. Temporary lane closures may be required and traffic controllers will be onsite to assist motorists. Construction activities include excavation, relocating utility services and backfilling. Council will notify affected residents and businesses before any planned service outages. Access to businesses on Brownlee Street, Bancroft Road and Marine Road will be maintained, with signage and temporary fencing in place to ensure safety. Some lane closures and reduced speed limits may be in place at times, with detours and traffic management onsite to safely direct road users, cyclists and pedestrians. Due to workplace health and safety requirements reversing beepers cannot be switched off. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while we prepare to complete this important road upgrade. Council is committed to keeping local residents informed of upcoming activities in their area and will provide further information as the project progresses. The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal roads upgrade project is jointly funded by Council and the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd, to support tourism in Brisbane, and planned residential and business growth in Pinkenba. If you would like to register for project updates or have any questions about the project, please contact the project team on 1800 010 705 or email [email protected]. BRISBANE INTERNATIONAL CRUISE TERMINAL ROADS UPGRADE

Early service works

Brisbane City Council is planning to upgrade a number of roads that lead to the new Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at Luggage Point, between Main Myrtletown Road and Marine Road in Pinkenba. The upgrade will allow existing road infrastructure to meet expected future traffic demands, and improve safety and accessibility for all road users.
