Executive SummaryThe middle class in Kenya today is a force to reckon with considering they command 44.9 % of Kenyan population according

to a research by the African Development Bank (2011).

According to KNBS, Kenya’s middle class includes anybody spending between Sh23,670 and Sh199,999 per month. This

shows that middle class is a major target group for most products in the Kenyan market today. This realization brought out the

creation of our event “Fashion chill out” an event targeting the Kenyan middle class aimed at bringing them together on a

picnic set up where they can enjoy good food, music, fashion and even shop. For companies it will be a good platform to

showcase their products for the middle class, increase brand awareness and create a unique product positioning as being the

ideal product for the middle class.

This event will be running throughout the year on quarterly basis in various parts of the country (Mombasa, Nairobi and

Kisumu) with the first one this year starting in Mombasa the 2nd quarter on August 2nd 2014 at the Butterfly Pavilion
