COMMITTEE REPORTS Events Committee Chair is Kim Piazza The April membership mixer was hosted by Dwayne Lane's Skagit Ford Lincoln from 5:00 to 7:00 on April 18th. Members enjoyed food, drink, viewing the newest "hot rods" and shopping for a new car. They were also encouraged to enter their business cards for a raffle drawing. The next exciting event is the 2017 SICBA Awards Banquet, being held at the Heritage Flight Museum located at the Skagit Regional Airport on Thursday May 18th from 5-8:30 pm. Families are invited to attend, wear your 40's style attire and enjoy a cocktail and a guided tour of the museum. Dinner will be catered by LaConner Seafood & Prime Rib and there will be a no host bar. Go to SICBA.org to register, cost is $35 per person
Membership Committee Chair is Dee Dee Swartz Hello and Happy Spring from the Membership Committee! Spring has definitely sprung and there's building in the air whether it's full on house or DIY home projects that keep the rest of us busy. At any rate, it's a great time from a weather standpoint and, the May Membership Drive starts this week, get your recruiting hat on and let's get serious about 500 members! Our May membership theme is “Racing To 500!” Reve up your recruiting engine and ask everyone you are doing business with: Are you a member of SICBA? If they say “no” ASK THEM TO JOIN! You can also give their name and contact information to Rayna and she’ll help you close the sale. Don't forget the business cards showing the Member Benefits, a QR Code to take a potential new member to the Member Application and a place for your name to get recruiting credit. Rayna has these at the office if you need/want some. The membership committee is here to make you a better, more successful recruiter, just ask. It's a great year, make the most of it!
Home and Garden Show Committee Chair is Dave Hillman The Home & Garden Show committee met for a wrap-up meeting on April 25
th. We reviewed the feedback we received
from vendors and attendees and discussed on our own the good and the improvements for the show. We are going to start meeting again for next year’s show beginning in June and would love to have as many people join our committee as possible, as this is the largest public event SICBA puts on and we need all the ideas and help we can get! If you’d like to join the committee, please email or call Lianna so she can add you to our list. [email protected] 360-488-4079

What a great time was had by all at our April Member Mixer hosted by Dwayne Lane’s Auto Family at their Skagit Ford store. The turnout was good and there was a lot of looking at new vehicles during the event. They made it more fun by bringing in a 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II and a 1941 Ford Truck that were restored. Absolutely beautiful examples of the work that was done during those periods of time where elegance and utility were the prime factors pushing automobile
design and manufacturing. It wouldn’t surprise me if they got some sales of new automobiles as a result of their hosting our event. Even a crew from Blade Chevy came to the event to mix with members and as Tom Lane said, to spy on their competition. All in good fun, by the way! Zane Morrison even won a prize during the drawings that were held for flowers, Seahawks Tickets and other great prizes offered up by the Lane Team. We held our drawings and if Valley Concrete Construction Inc. had been present, they could have taken home $350 from the Membership Bonus Drawing but instead the pot will be $400 at our Annual Awards Banquet on May 18
th (Click here for
more information) at the Heritage Flight Museum at the Port of Skagit County Airport. Our other drawing was for renewal and Brushworks NW Inc was the lucky winner of one dinner at our next event. Be sure to mark your calendars for the awards banquet and we look forward to seeing you there on May 18
th.

SICBA’S Annual Home Tour is on for September!
In the next few weeks, we will be contacting all of our builders to participate in SICBA’s Annual Home Tour scheduled for September 8, 9 and 10. If you have a home you would like to showcase, let Lianna know right away and she will get the information to you as soon as it is available and up to date for this year. Our tour has been highly successful each year we have produced it and everyone who has participated has indicated they have gotten work from showcasing one of their projects on the tour. If you are a specialty contractor who has a great project to showcase, we ask that you contact your General Contractor/Builder and ask them to put that project on the tour. It is good advertising for you and helps SICBA promote our members as they rightfully deserve. Any questions, call Lianna at 360 488-4079 or email [email protected].
