Corriedale• Originated in New Zealand and

Dorset• Originated in Southern England.• Medium-sized• White-faced• Produce medium-wool fleeces
Hampshire• Originated in Hampshire County,
Southern England• Large frame• Open faced• Knees and hocks free of wool• Ears are moderate length• Face is good length, free of wool,
has black hair
Merino • Originated in Spain• Fine wool• Face and legs are white• Wool is finely crimped
Montadale• Originated by E. H. Mattingly, he
was obsessed with producing the ideal sheep.• Cross between Columbia ewe
and Cheviot ram• Medium frame• White wool• Black feet and nose
Shropshire• Originated in the country
Shropshire in western England• Medium frame • Good carcass quality• Head is soft black with wool
covering the poll• Strong boned
Southdown• Originated Sussex, England• Muzzle is grey to brown• Ears moderate length• Moderate frame size• Produce optimum size lean
carcass• Medium wool fleece
Suffolk• Originated in England• Cross breed of Southdown and
Norfolk horned ewes• Medium wool type• Black heads and all black legs• Produce high cutability carcasses
Tunis• Originated in Africa• Medium sized meat sheep• Slender hear• Creamy white fleece• Head is red and feet are red also,
no wool on either head of feet
