Domestic Violence Awareness Month Reminder...
Clerk of Court’s Domestic Violence Division Assists Victims to Petition the Court for Protection Injunctions
During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Clerk of Courts Crystal Kinzel would like to remind
the public that victims of domestic violence or threats of violence have the right to ask the court
for an Injunction for Protection. An Injunction for Protection, sometimes referred to as a restrain-
ing order, usually places restrictions on the abuser that are intended to protect the victim.
Petitions are received and processed by the
Office of the Collier County Clerk of the Circuit
Court-Domestic Violence Division. Clerk’s
personnel are available to assist the petitioner
to determine which of the five types of petitions
is most fitting based on the specific situation.
The Clerk partners with the Shelter for Abused
Women & Children for an on-site victim’s
advocate to assist the petitioner with complet-
ing documents and to provide information
about the services available from the Shelter.
Because the safety of staff, the petitioner and
the petitioner’s children is taken very seriously,
the Clerk provides a secure and private location for the petitioner to confidentially meet with per-
sonnel and an advocate, with toys available for children to enjoy.
Injunctions for Protection are free of charge and are processed at the Office of the Collier County
Clerk of the Circuit Court—Domestic Violence Division, Courthouse Annex, 3rd floor, 3315 Tami-
ami Trail E. Naples, FL 34112 or at the satellite office in Immokalee, 106 South First Street, Im-
mokalee, FL 34142. For more information about petitioning for a Protection Injunction, contact
the Clerk’s Office at (239) 252-2646 or visit www.CollierClerk.com.
To learn about the many services offered by the Shelter for Abused Women and Children visit
www.NaplesShelter.org. The Shelter provides access to an advocate 24-hours a day at (239) 775-
1101.
The Clerk provides a secure and private space for the petitioner to confidentially meet with
personnel or a shelter advocate.

Over $5,000 in Overdue Fines
Collected During
‘Operation Green Light’ Event
The Collier County Clerk’s office collected over $5,000 in past due fines during its first statutorily mandated Driver
License Reinstatement event, held as required under Florida statute § 322.75. Florida statute § 322.75, which be-
came effective on October 1, 2019, requires each clerk of court to annually hold one or more Driver License Rein-
statement Day events. Known as “Operation Green Light,” the objective of the three-hour event held on Saturday,
October 12th, was to provide individuals with suspended driver licenses an opportunity to pay overdue court obli-
gations, including traffic ticket fines, without having to pay additional collection fees. For some individuals, the
event offered an opportunity to learn which specific court ordered sanction(s) or condition(s) must first be complet-
ed before his/her license can be reinstated, such as the successful completion of a safe driver’s course.
Plans are in the works to hold additional Operation Green Light events at other county locations, including the
Clerk’s courthouse location in East Naples and satellite offices in Golden Gate City and Immokalee.
Clerk Cautions Residents: Be Wary of Businesses Attempting to Sell
Copies of Deeds and Other Property Records
The Office of the Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court has recently been made aware that some county resi-
dents have received a mail solicitation from a private entity offering to provide, for the exorbitant price of $89, a
copy of their property deed, which has been recorded in Collier County’s Official Records. Because of the some-
what official appearance of the mailing, it is feasible that some recipients
may have the false impression that it was sent from a government agency
and therefore pay the high price for a copy of a document that can be
viewed for free on the Clerk’s website, CollierClerk.com.
Clerk Kinzel cautions the public about this solicitation and others similar to it. Copies of deeds, mortgages and oth-
er property records can be easily viewed for free on, CollierClerk.com. From the homepage click on the “Records
Search,” then click on the link to “Official Land Records,” followed by a click on the link in the top left-hand corner
box titled, “OR Document Search,” [https://apps.collierclerk.com/records-search/official-land-records-search].
Copies of property records may also be purchased for $1 per page at the main office or at any of the five satellite
offices. Customers may also obtain certified copies of documents for an additional $2 per document.

other property records can be easily
