1. Can I return my library books and videos? We encourage patrons to hold on to their checked out materials until we open. We are not charging overdue fines while we are closed. If you feel you must return items, you can drop them in the book return units outside our main door.

2. I had books on hold, are they still available? If the pickup date was after the date we closed, they should be available when we reopen.

3. When do you plan to open? We are monitoring the situation and consulting with county and states officials. We will make a decision as to opening when it is permitted AND we feel we can do so safely for our patrons and staff.

4. Will there be limitations what library services will be available and how they are provided? We will provide those services we feel we can offer safely, keeping in mind any recommendations for social distancing that are in effect. This may result in limitations on the services and programs we provide.

5. How can if keep informed about library news? Consult the library’s webpage at westisliplibrary.org, follow us on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and look for our weekly advertisements in the West Islip Edition of The South Bay’s Neighbor delivered weekly in resident’s mailboxes.
