T he second semester is underway, and we have some exciting things happening in our classrooms! It is a great experience to
watch how children learn on a daily basis, and there are many great opportunities to see the many ways our students experience learning. They learn by watching, listening, and doing! I find that students do best in an environment that is interesting and where they feel supported and safe. Our goal here at Candlewood is to ensure that we provide this environment for our students.
Please continue to read about and support the upcoming events at school. We have a very active PTA, who helps to support our school financially and through the activities provided for our students. They will not be successful without you!
Our students have been working very hard to take the assessments that we are required to provide for them. When they are absent from school, it could possibly take the students out of their regular routines. I want to encourage you to make sure that your child comes to school on time, in order to have a great start to the day.
I want to thank all parents for providing all that you can so that your child/children can be comfortable at school. Thank you for remaining consistently helpful and strong as we go through the training of our new curriculum and preparing for future program changes. In addition, please continue to take the time to discuss the meaning of “Community Circles,” with your children.
Happy February!!!
We at Candlewood Elementary School recognize the individual needs of our student body. We see our school as a learning environment conducive to developing the fullest potential of each of our students in a safe learning environment which promotes positive social interactions.
