Cass County Red Cross staff members Karen LaTourette and Rocky Buffum smiled for the camera as they posed for a photo at the Taste of Cass County last summer, but the two, along with Red Cross volunteers, are always ready to spring into action when an emergency happens.
DID YOU KNOW? Rocky Buffum, executive director for the Cass County Chapter of the American Red Cross is one of only six certified disaster program managers in the nation and the first to be certified in Indiana. He is also the first chapter executive director to earn the certification.
Responding to Disaster
“For over a century, the American Red Cross has harnessed the generosity of the American people, mobilizing us to offer assistance in the wake of disaster ... During American Red Cross Month, we celebrate our Nation’s humanitarian spirit, and we recommit to providing relief and hope in times of crisis.”
