We, the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed
Virgin Mary, are a beacon on the hill in the heart
of Juneau. We welcome everyone to participate in
our rich Catholic traditions. As a Christian faith
community, we, disciples of Jesus, compassionately
serve in action, in worship, and through our
relationships.

RCIA News Each week for the past six weeks two catechumens have been dismissed from the 11:00 Mass and have been included in our prayer.
In January our Cathedral parish accepted Charlie Blattner into the Catechumenate. We welcome Charlie with joy and promise our prayers as he continues his journey to Baptism.
Ted Madsen, a catechumen from Anchorage, is a legislative aide and will return to Anchorage where he will be baptized on Pentecost Sunday. We are blessed to be part of Ted’s faith journey while he is in Juneau.
This weekend we will be celebrating the second Scrutiny and therefore will be using the cycle A readings.
Easter Flowers
Easter is coming soon, and we plan once again to fill the sanctuary with lilies and other festive flowers. This weekend,
March 14 and 15, we will be accepting donations for Easter flowers after all the Masses. The suggested donation is $20.00, but all donations are welcome.
Chrism Mass for the Diocese of Juneau
Thursday, March 26th, 5:30 p.m.
Celebrate with Bishop Edward J. Burns and the Priests
of the Diocese of Juneau
Blessing of Holy Oils: During this mass, the
priests, deacons and representatives of the entire
diocesan community gather around their Bishop,
who blesses the Holy Oils for use in the coming
year.
Renewal of Vows and Promises: This mass is
also a key moment in which the unity of the
Bishop with his priests is manifested and
renewed. During the liturgy, the entire assembly
is called to renew its baptismal promises; deacons
and priests also renew their vows to the local
Bishop and their commitment to serve God’s
people. At the end of the Chrism Mass, the Holy
Oils are brought back to parishes of the diocese
for use in the coming year.
POTLUCK MEAL TO FOLLOW THE MASS.
Singers are invited to participate in the choir for
this special Diocesan Mass. For more
information email: [email protected]
The Chrism Mass will be livestreamed on the
internet at:

40 Days for Life Prayer Team
This is an effort by local volunteers, families and church groups keeping a prayerful vigil outside of abortion clinics. Alaskans For Life has chosen the six weeks of Lent for this effort, starting Monday Feb. 23rd and ending April 3rd during the weekdays. This involves a one hour commit-ment once a week for the six weeks. If an indi-vidual can only join for a shorter period that is acceptable. There should be a minimum of two people for each session. Please fell free to join in prayer on the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood Clinic.
If interested please call Sid at 789-9858 or John at 789-5910
