Important Points

1. The patient will be evaluated for confirmation of the CCSVI diagnosis by Dr Sumit Singh and his team using international clinical protocol. The disability & the clinical state of the patient will be evaluated using EDSS.

2. The first choice of treatment preference for our doctors is balloon venous angioplasty than Stenting Procedure. In balloon venous angioplasty just a balloon is used to open the blocked vein.

3. If a stent is required to be used then the additional cost is 1300 US Dollars per stent. 4. Also after 4 days at the hospital, you may have to stay at a hotel or guest house nearby our

hospital for 2 to 3 more days and that may cost you another 50 to 150 US Dollars per day (Depends on your choice and affordability) and our hospital will help you move in to the Guest house/ hotel and also arrange drop to the Airport for departure to your home.

5. Whether the patient gets diagnosed for CCSVI prior to travelling for treatment is at the discretion of the patient. A complete CCSVI Testing/Screening would be carried out at our hospital by a team of specialist doctors. If the CCSVI testing results indicate that the patient is not a candidate for the Liberation Procedure then he/she would be paying just 1200 US Dollars for testing and stay of 2 days in hospital.

Dr. Vipul Gupta has joined Medanta as Head Interventional Neuroradiology with primary focus on Endovascular Neurosurgery. Before joining Medanta, he was the Head Interventional Neuroradiology (Endovascular Neurosurgery) at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi. He has worked as Associate Professor in dept. of Neuroradiology (AIIMS), New Delhi. Among the first in our country to use dedicated intra cranial stents and 3D-DSA for aneurysm embolization, to perform intra cranial venous sinus stenting and one of the few full time Neurointerventionists specializing in endovascular interventions in Stroke. A topper in DM neurology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Dr Sumit Singh was awarded the “BL Soni Gold Medal” for being the best Resident in Neurology. He was Associate Professor of Neurology at AIIMS since the year 2000, where he started the first headache clinic in north India at AIIMS in 2002. He also established the Neuromuscular disorders centre at AIIMS and is known for his contribution in the field of Movement disorders. He initiated the use of botulinium toxin in Headache for the first time in the country, and extended its usage in trigeminal Neuralgia. He was also involved with using Botulinum toxin in Spasticity, Limb dystonias and facial and limb dyskinesias, spasmodic dysphonias and writer’s cramps. Dr Sumit has been with Deep Brain Stimulation Program for Parkinson’s disease at AIIMS and was involved in intraoperative assessment and post operative programming of these patients. He has innovated the plasma exchange protocols for AIDP, Myasthenic crisis, Polymyositis, and has introduced the same for Multiple Sclerosis for the first time in the country. Dr Sumit has more than 80 publications in National and international journals and has written several chapters in books. We remember the first call we got on our toll free helpline 1-888-771-6965 on 14th of July, 2010. Mr. Dan was enquiring about the Liberation Treatment for his wife Ms. Patricia. Since the treatment was not available in Canada, Dan had researched various options worldwide. Safemedtrip executives addressed all his concerns and sent him an info pack by email which had a lot of information about the CCSVI Testing, Liberation Treatment, Doctor Profiles, Cost Estimates etc. etc. Having reviewed the info Dan made a few more calls to ask some questions and finally decided to come to India for the treatment of his wife at a world-class super specialty hospital. Safemedtrip arranged a formal appointment letter from the hospital and the required travel info that helped Dan and his wife to get India Visa on priority and book their flight tickets. Mr. Dan and Ms. Patricia arrived in India at 1:55am on July 6th, 2010. The airport was most modern and no less than their departing airport in Canada. The Guest Relation Officer and the Driver were waiting for them in the Arrival area just outside the airport’s last security exit. They were holding a placard / board displaying Mr. Patricia’s name in bold and the hospital name written on it. Mr. Dan and Ms. Patricia were delighted and got in the hospital’s car and it took just 20 minutes to reach India’s top class hospital Mr. Dan and Ms. Patricia were made comfortable in a private room of the hospital which was already booked for them and all their admission formalities were carried right in their room. Dan was impressed with this hotel kind of room that had a bed for him to sleep, a television connected to cable and a washroom, food service, nurse on call and excellent view from the windows. The next morning a team of doctors visited Ms. Patricia in her room and she was taken for medical testing and based on the reports of testing, Ms. Patricia underwent Liberation procedure the next day. After a successful treatment in India, Ms. Patricia and her husband Mr. Dan are back home in Toronto, Canada. “We are back home and very happy. I went shopping! I can't remember the last time I went to a store, tried things on, picked other things

and tried them on, etc. It wasn't all that easy though. Dave had to come into the change rooms with me,

but what the heck, I came back to the guest house in New Delhi with these two bags!

Many wonderful sisters looked after me. This woman is maybe 4-ft tall. She wasn't one of my attendants but one day she just rushed into my room and kissed me on both cheeks. She also came in on my last day to wish me well and say good-bye. She liked my hair. I had quite a few people come in just to stare at me for a

moment. Indians love colour so I love Indians.

My awesome neurologist, Dr. Sumit Singh, and his colleague Dr. Tariq. Incidentally, my ensemble

makes hospital gowns in the West seem like cruel and unusual punishment. Only problem is that the one-size-fits-all aspect means the pants are hard

to keep from falling down.

No one told the designers at Medanta that you can't have colour in a hospital room. Yellow walls? A

mural? Other walls were other colours. Haven't they heard of institutional blah? Dave's bed is unseen, but

his was off to the right.

Like I said, they don't know real hospitals use institutional grey, green and beige.
