Certificate Program in Assistive Technology (CAT) The Richard Stockton College Certificate program in Assistive Technology is a 30-hour post-baccalaureate continuing professional education program. It is designed to provide a practical, application-based approach to Assistive Technology. Using a life-span context, a variety of settings is addressed, including acute care, rehabilitative care, and education. This blended program is designed with the busy professional in mind. The Certificate program will be particularly useful to Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Rehabilitation Specialists, Speech and Language Therapists, Special Education educators, and other professionals who regularly work with assistive technology. The 30-hour certificate consists of three 5-hour class meetings on the Stockton College Galloway campus and 10 weeks of online interactive class work in a Blackboard virtual classroom. Courses in this program can be taken individually or as part of the certificate program (please note that Course I is a pre-requisite for all other courses). Registrants for this certificate program must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited higher education institution. The Certificate in Assistive Technology (CAT) is a certificate program and not a substitute for the ATP certification offered by RESNA. Therefore, individuals who complete the CAT program cannot use the ATP designation. However, previous participants in the CAT program have used the CAT program to prepare for the RESNA certification exam.
