PROFILE OF THE SELECTED CO-OPERATIVE

SUGAR MILLS IN TAMILNADU

amil Nadu is one of the major contributors of sugar in India. In Tamil Nadu, the

co-operative sector has played a major role in the growth of sugar industry. Hence, the

researcher has decided to undertake research work in the co-operative sector. In this chapter,

the profile of the 14 co-operative sugar mills in Tamil Nadu under the study is given.

2.1 THE AMBUR CO-OPERATIVE SUGAR MILLS LIMITED

The Ambur Co-operative Sugar Mills Ltd. is situated at Vadapudupet, Vellore

district. It commenced its first crushing in 1960.
