What is Running Start?Opportunity for HS juniors and seniors.Take college courses while in high school.Enroll in high school and college classes at the same time OR solely in college classes.

How does Running Start work?Eligible for equivalent of two years of high school.Take college-level courses; 100 level or above.Receive high school and college credit for completed classes.College classes are tuition-free if combined credit limit does not exceed 1.2 FTE.**Students pay for books, supplies, transportation, and fees.

How does Running Start work?**Recent changes (as of fall 2011)Combined high school and college credit limits pay NO tuition…example: Student who takes 15 credits at CBC and 1 high school class or 10 credits at CBC and 2 high school classesStudents pay tuition for credits over 15

How do I qualify for Running Start?College placement test (COMPASS) is required.Must place into college-level reading and in either math or English, at college level.Test during the spring of your sophomore year.Computerized test--no time limit.Test takes about three hours.
