When most folks think of the chiropractor, issues with the back and spine come to mind. Professional chiropractors, however, are typically trained to care for the entire body, which extends beyond the back to areas such as the knees.

A client with knee pain can, in fact, gain relief by spending some time on the chiropractic table.

For starters, the chiropractor may use that table time to apply a joint mobilization technique to one or both knees. Also, if the knee pain seems to be stemming from issues in other areas of the body, adjustments to those spots may be part of the session.

Common knee problems that may land a patient at a chiropractic office are generally simple overuse issues that result in wear and tear and subsequent problems, like work strains and sports injuries.

For instance, if you run marathons on a regular basis or play on a league soccer team, you could eventually find yourself heading to the chiropractor for knee problems.

Besides providing any necessary adjustments on the table, your chiropractor will most likely find ways to help you alleviate your knee pain outside of the office, as well, by providing a set of guided exercises and stretches that can help create strength and muscle balance to help heal the knee and reduce the risk for future pain and problems.
