Catechetical
Sunday
September 18
Commissioning
at the 11am Mass
This year, the Church will celebrate Catechetical Sunday on September 18, 2016 and will focus on the theme "Prayer: The Faith Prayed." Those who the Community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.

Faith and Fellowship:
Beginning Fall Session on October 2nd If you have never participated we urge you to prayerfully consider joining a group. Small groups of 8-10 participants meet at a mutually convenient time for 90 minutes twice a month. Small groups provide a format for participants to explore, share and deepen their faith and friendship with each other. Through the practice of small groups many new friendships have formed and existing friendships strengthened.
This fall the focus is Mercy. Through scripture and reflection from Pope Francis we will explore receiving, experiencing and practicing Mercy. It is guaranteed to be an enriching, if not life changing, experience for each of us as individuals and as a parish. Don't miss out. Join the other 160 people who already experience faith and fellowship.

How can I repay the Lord for all the good done for me? (Psalm 116:12)
Stewardship is the intentional actions we take that answer the question: “How can I repay the Lord for all
the good done for me?” Over the upcoming weeks you will have the opportunity to hear God’s message
through the readings and homilies: as you reflect on them ask yourself the question, “How can I repay the
Lord for all the good done for me?”
The theme for this Jubilee Year of Mercy is “Merciful like the Father.” It is inspired by stories like today’s
reading from Exodus and the Gospel parable of the prodigal son. This is the God whom Jesus wants us to know better, whom Pope Francis wants revealed to the whole world. As we gather today, let us make a prayer of thanksgiving for our merciful God and Father and ponder how we can repay the Lord for all the good done for [us].
Pope Francis’ Invitation to
A Season of Creation
Pope Francis has invited us to A SEASON OF CREATION that began on September 1 with a WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE CARE OF CREATION and will end October 4 on the FEAST of SAINT FRANCIS. While we always pray, this is a month of special daily opportunities to join with Pope Francis, Catholics around the world as well as other people of faith “to cultivate the common good for
our common home”. So what do we do? If you love to “surf the net” we invite you to follow
the links posted here. There are moments of prayer and moments of challenge for this month as well as opportunities to continue your prayer and interest going forward. http://catholicclimatemovement.global/world-day-of

God of compassion, we pray for our loved ones in the military, who offer themselves for the sake of others and who are separated from family and loved ones.
Care for them; meet their needs. Grant them courage, compassion, strength, and all they need for the living of these days. Sustain them through their every trial.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
Our parish prays for all service members, and especially for:

Boston Priests. There for us.
At Saint Stephen Parish in Framingham, the lively multicultural community with a strong Hispanic presence has become an extension of Fr. Francisco “Paco” Anzoategui’s family. “We may speak dierent languages and have dierent traditions, but we are not two separate communities,” said Fr. Paco. “We are one family of believers with the same faith, and we are united in a wonderful bond that we call our spiritual family.”
To help ensure a continuum of care for Fr. Paco and all our devoted priests who faithfully serve our Catholic family please support the special collection on September 17-18.
