OUR Marine Corps !

For more than a decade, ou r Marines have endured,

overcom e, and thr ived in the moral ly b ruis ing arena of

human com bat. Whi le we have been victor ious on the

batt lef ie lds of Iraq and A fghanistan, we are now seeing

signs that our ins t i tu t ional fabr ic isfrayingwe needto take act ion today to f ix i t .

We have a behavioral pro blem w ithin the Corps - a

small , but n ot ins igni f icant , number of ou r Mar ines are

no t liv ing up to our ethos and co re values. They are

hu rt ing themselves, their fel low Marines, civi l ians, and

damaging ou r repu tat ion.

barracks.

Sgts and Cpls w i l l return to ou r brks; BAH is no

longer authorized for single Marines (CGs will have waiver authority)

I want to see Senior Off icers, SNCOs and NCOs in and out o f

the b rks regularly, especial ly betw een 2000-0400

I want to see Company Grade Off icers assigned as OODs and

SNCOs assign ed as the Staff OOD.

Duty Officers/SNCOs wil l be armed at all t imes

Each unit will establish an interior guard and I expect a

SNCO to b e in charge of their training

All duty standers will be in service uniform (Bs or Cs)

I want all watch standers out and about and not sitting

behind a desk
