Chef Vanessa Bowman was born in the town ofSecunda, South Africa. In 2007 she attended theSouth African International Hotel School earningcertification in hospitality management. In 2009Vanessa joined the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort ofNaples as an international intern. She jokinglyremembers not knowing the difference betweenarugula and thyme. Under the mentorship of ChefDan Vargo, she was able to hone her skills inculinary arts. She later transferred to the RitzCarlton Golf Resort where she executed highvolume banquets, charity events, and restaurantoutlet operations with credit to Chef Aaron Pryear.In 2017 she joined Executive Chef Ryan Danielsand the team of Fiddlesticks country club. As theCabana chef, she brought a renewed excitementin dining at the club. She looks forward to sharingher international flavors and passion for cookingand hospitality with the Captain's Club.
