development day, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation is putting on a day of kid-oriented activities,

including sports, arts, and crafts, for children ages 6 - 12 at DC recreation centers throughout the city.

How to Leave a Legacy, An Educational Workshop sponsored by the Sibley Senior Association.

Friday, February 12 from 1 - 3 PM

Judge Carolyn Miller Parr (ret.) and Sig Cohen, a mediator for the DC Superior Court, will lead a

workshop on wills, trusts, power of attorney and other matters that seniors need to know when

making decisions about the management of their estates. Doors open at 12:45.

Casey Trees presents Buds Story Time at Rock Creek Park Nature Center.

Saturday, February 13 at 10 AM

“Buds” is a tree-focused story time aimed toward an audience of toddlers and preschoolers (2 to 4 years). Buds

will be held in the area outside the auditorium on the lower level of the Rock Creek Park Nature Center at 5200 Glover

Road NW. The story time will feature three to four tree and environment focused books interspersed with songs and a craft project. Each family will leave with a list of seasonally

appropriate “scavenger hunt items” to track down while exploring Rock Creek on their own after the Buds program

has concluded. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
