The far north Petroleum operations on the northernmost part of the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) must be
conducted in an acceptable manner and safeguard people, the environment and material assets.
Barrierer Safety barriers must be maintained in an integrated and consistent manner in order to minimise
risk.
Groups at particular risk Management at all levels of the industry must work to reduce major accident risk, and ensure
that these efforts are pursued in a coherent manner.
Management and major accident risk The companies must continue their efforts to reduce the threat of injury and illness for groups
particularly exposed to such risks in the industry.
We will also follow up the way management in the companies ensures an
acceptable transition to new phases.
That applies particularly to players with little experience from the NCS, including those who are to drill their first well as an operator, those
planning their first field development, and those taking over as the operator for a producing
field.

What Data can be defined as something that is, or represents, a fact.
This can be in many forms (e.g., text, numbers, graphics, sound, video).
Information is data in context. Context means providing a meaning to the data, defending the format in which the data are presented and the relevance of the data within a certain usage context.
Why Information is used at every level of the enterprise, i.e., at
operational, management and governance levels. Information is one of the enablers of every business function reliant on IT.
