Compliance to the Conditions of Environment clearance for establishment of Coal tar

distillation plant of capacity 300,000 TPA issued vide letter No. SEIAA 29 IND 2015

dated 18 February, 2016

Part A – Specific Conditions:-

HCL shall be monitored in

the ambient air and

emission from the stack

and displayed at

convenient location near

the main gate of the

company and at important

public places. The

company shall upload the

result of monitored data on

its website and shall

update the same

periodically. It shall

simultaneously be sent to

the Regional Officer Of

MoEF Bangalore, SEIAA –

Karnataka , the respective

Zonal Officer of CPCB and

the KSPCB.

We will monitor ambient air

quality as per National

Ambient Quality Monitoring

Standard – 2009. We are not

using HCl in our plant involves

operations. Monitored data will

be displayed on main gate.

We will outsource

environmental monitoring by

NABL/MoEF approved

laboratory.

7 The company shall upload

23.06.2016 under Hazardous

waste (Management handling

and trans boundary

movement).

We are expected to get the

authorization shortly.

Hazardous waste will be

disposed to TSDF.

9 The concerned company

shall undertake measures

for fire fighting facility in

case of emergency

We have provided portable fire

extinguishers, fire hydrant, fire

sprinkler system & fire tender

in premises of plant.

We have also installed smoke

detectors in critical areas of

the plant i.e. Coal Tar Building,

Pitch warehouse, Naphthalene

warehouse, Power Control

Centre (PCC), all Machine

Control Centre (MCC).

10 In Plant control measures

for checking fugitive

emissions from all the

vulnerable sources shall be

unloading areas, & internal

roads.

roads are paved and handling

11 Hazardous chemicals shall

be stored in tanks in tank

farms, drums, carboys etc.

Flame arresters shall be

provided on tank farm.

Solvent transfer shall be by

pumps.

All vents of storage tanks are

connected to scrubbers, hence

flame arrestor not required.

Intermediate section.

i) KSPCB has not published

any standard for fugitive

emission monitoring yet. We

are following the standard as

per factories act. However we

shall be in touch with KSPCB in

this regard.

15 No effluent shall be

discharged outside the

factory premises and

“Zero” discharge concept

shall be adopted as

of law. ETP sludge, process

(inorganic and organic)

and evaporation salt shall

be disposed off to the

TSDF for land filling/

incineration. The ash from

boiler shall be sold to brick

manufacturers.

The spent carbon will be sent

to incinerator of JSW.

Chemical sludge from ETP will

be sent to TSDF/charge in coke

oven of JSW.

19 Boiler ash shall be stored

separately as per CPCB

guidelines so that it shall

not adversely affect the air

quality, becoming air borne

by wind or water regime

during rainy seasons by

flowing along with the

storm water. Direct

exposure of workers to fly

ash and dust shall be

avoided.

The boiler ash will be properly

stored to avoid contamination

of air & water quality during

rainy season as per the CPCB

guideline.
