<BOL>Site Description:</BOL><div>Waterford Beach Park offersvisitors a rare opportunity to experiencea largely unmodified Long Island Sound beach,dune and saltmarsh complex. Approximately1/4 mile of the Park's shoreline provides one ofthe best examples of an intact beach and dunesystem in Connecticut where the State-threatened piping plover occasionally nests.Please avoid areas marked as beach nesting birdhabitat. Handicapped accessible beachwheelchairs available. Sseason passes are soldthrough the Parks and Recreation Department.Due to COVID-19 public safety concerns,access to the beach for the summer 2020 isavailable to season pass holders only. Lifeguardson duty, conditions permitting, during thesummer. Follow signs to the adjacentEugene O'Neil Theater to find this site off ofGreat Neck Road.
