Page 4, Thursday, April 17, 2003 News for Southern Colorado County, Texas The Eagle Lake Headlight OBITUARIES 24&48 Linda Ford Felder September 3,1941 - March 23,2003 On Sunday morning, March 23, 2003, Linda Ford Felder's Heavenly Father redeemed her reservation - which was made long ago. She took her flight on the wings of the morning dove to join all those who have gone on before her. All who knew her can receive comfort in knowing that she had made her reservation and was ready for her journey. Born September 3, 1941 in Altair, she was the daughter of Lester D. and Magnolia Ford. She attended Altair schools and gra- duated in 1959 from E.H. Henry High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Hutson Tillotson in Austin; was a Certified Medical Technologist, Veterans Administration Hospital; Post Graduate Studies at the University of Houston, Clearlake. Felder was entrepreneur of UNI- GLOBE Bay Area Travel in La Porte; supervisor and laboratory technician, Exxon, in Baytown; laboratory tech at Veterans, Ben Taub and Jefferson Davis Hospitals, Harris County Hos- pital District Clinic in Houston and Baytown and a substitute teacher at G.W. Carver High School in Baytown. She later married Joseph Cephus Felder. To this union, two children were born. She was a member of Logan Chapel United Methodist Church, McNair; St. Mark's United Methodist, La Porte; President of United Methodist Women, Secretary of United Methodist Women, Houston East District, numerous church committees; Soror, Alpha Kap- pa Alpha Sorority Inc., Tau Zeta Omega Chapter, UNIGLOBE Owners Associaton, treasurer, La Porte-Bay- shore Chamber of Commerce, direc- tor, Baytown Resource and Assistance Center, Exxon Volunteer Involvement Program, Sisters Sipping Tea Book Club, Optimist Club, La Porte, San Jacinto College Business Dev. Pro- gram, Acres Homes Coalition of Schools, Founding member of Black Women's Awareness Club Inc., Chap- ter member, Top Ladies of Distinction, Baytown Chapter, United Way solici- tor, Sickle Cell Association, Partners in Education, Kids-N-Chemistry and numerous other organizations. After retirement, Felder purchased the UNIGLOBE Bay Area Travel Agency. "Al" Robinson, 74, of Richmond, Indiana, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Friday, March 21, 2003 in Richmond. He was born April 19,1928 in Wil- liamsburg, Indiana, the son of Hubert and Gertrude Kees Robinson. Robinson and Norma Jane Pen- nington were married November 25, 1953. A retired restaurant owner and vet- eran of the Korean War, he was a mem- ber of the Moose Lodge #167 and Unit- ed Ancient Order of Druids of Rich- mond, Indiana, VFW #6113 and the American Legion Post #383 of Colum- bus. He was preceded death by his par- ents; wife; and a son Kelly Robinson. Library receives grant for painting The Eula and David Wintermann Library recently received a Loan Star Grant from the Texas State Library and Pink Ladies hold luncheon, install officers The Rice Medical Center Auxiliary, known as the Pink Ladies, held their annual salad luncheon Tuesday, April 8, in the fellowship hall of the United Methodist Church. They also held installation of officers at this time with Laura Matthys doing the installation. The new officers for two year terms are: President, Charlene Konesheck; 1st Vice President, Minnie Lee Conner; 2nd Vice President, Janie Crane; Sec- retary, Sarah Urdiales; and Treasurer, Becky Anderson. Archives Commission Library Devel- opment Division which enabled the Board of Directors to authorize the painting of the library. The Grant is supported by the Ac- counting and Grants Department of the Administrative Services Division which also administered the Loan Star Libraries Program. Any legally established public li- brary in Texas that meets the Minimum Standard for Accreditation of Public Libraries in the State Library System is eligible to receive state aid. Infor- mation from the Annual Report/Sys- tem Membership Application Form also determines eligibility for the grant. The amount of the grant is based on a formula established by the Texas State Library and Archives Commis- sion. Direct aid grants, under the Loan Star Libraries Program, may be used for any public library operating ex- penses. However, they urge libraries to direct these funds to highly visible pro- grams and services that will bring the greatest benefit to your community and the greatest attention to the library. Direct aid cannot be used to purchase or construct a library building or quar- ters. Linda Ford Felder September 3,1941 - March 23,2003

On Sunday morning, March 23, 2003, Linda Ford Felder's Heavenly Father redeemed her reservation - which was made long ago. and Sandra Robinson of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Terry, Jeremiah and Zachariah Hooper, Cody, Kaylee and Koree Robinson, Tammy Rinard Montgomery and Everett Rinard; and six great-grandchildren, Jessica and Eric Montgomery, Trent, Kendra, Kyle and Austin Rinard.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, from Odd Fel- lows Rest Cemetery in Columbus with Pastor Wes Jacobsen officiating.

Services were under the direction of Henneke Funeral Home in Colum- bus.

Library recently received a Loan Star Grant from the Texas State Library and

Pink Ladies hold luncheon, install officers

The Rice Medical Center Auxiliary, known as the Pink Ladies, held their annual salad luncheon Tuesday, April 8, in the fellowship hall of the United Methodist Church.

They also held installation of officers at this time with Laura Matthys doing the installation.

The new officers for two year terms are: President, Charlene Konesheck; 1st Vice President, Minnie Lee Conner; 2nd Vice President, Janie Crane; Sec- retary, Sarah Urdiales; and Treasurer, Becky Anderson.

The Grant is supported by the Ac- counting and Grants Department of the Administrative Services Division which also administered the Loan Star Libraries Program.

Any legally established public li- brary in Texas that meets the Minimum Standard for Accreditation of Public Libraries in the State Library System is eligible to receive state aid. Infor- mation from the Annual Report/Sys- tem Membership Application Form also determines eligibility for the grant.

The amount of the grant is based

on a formula established by the Texas State Library and Archives Commis- sion.

Direct aid grants, under the Loan Star Libraries Program, may be used for any public library operating ex- penses. However, they urge libraries to direct these funds to highly visible pro- grams and services that will bring the greatest benefit to your community and the greatest attention to the library. Direct aid cannot be used to purchase or construct a library building or quar- ters.

The library also received a Loan Star Grant in 2001-02 and was able to have the doors at the entry of the li- brary repaired.
