Welcome to St. Edward
Roman Catholic Church
The St. Edward community has been serving Nashville and its
surrounding area for over 65 years. We are a parish of
believers, rich in tradition and diversity including over 1,200
registered families and a school with approximately 150
students attending Pre-K 3 through 8th grade.
We provide an atmosphere in which parishioners of all ages
and cultures share faith through Sacramental and Liturgical
celebrations, on-going faith-formation, and other social and
spiritual events which enable us to connect our faith with the
world in which we live.
Whether it is your first time here at St. Edward or a return visit,
we are very happy to have you with us. Please come back
and worship often.

Inspiration for the
Week
What gives you joy? Joy is discovered when
we connect with something or someone very
deeply and experience a dimension of
ourselves that material or secular
possessions cannot bring. Joy is stumbled
upon when we see our newly born child for
the first time, get caught up in the vastness
of a mountain landscape, and are led out into
infinity gazing at an ocean’s horizon, or being
lovingly present with someone when they
are vulnerable and in need. Joy is a profound
experience that in its uniqueness grounds us
in ultimate truth. Did you know that all
authentic, profound, and memorable
moments of joy mirror the eternal joy we
desire from God? We can have glimpses of
this eternal Divine joy as we embark upon
our earthly journey, mirrored in our human
connections with joy, but experienced directly
during moments of deep prayer. God is the
joy of my soul. Ponder those intense words!
You will know moments of true and real joy
by paying attention to your response to the
experience. You will find yourself rejoicing
and saying thank you.

To ensure the safety of our homeless guests and volunteers this year, St. Edward will be
using a provided off site location to participate in the Room In The Inn program.
St. Edward will be using the “Drexel House”, a property adjacent to Room In The Inn’s
campus located at Seventh and Drexel Avenues downtown. The Drexel House is the
former location of Immaculate Mother Academy, founded by Saint Katherine Drexel.
St. Edward Church will be participating the 1
st
and 2
nd
Fridays from December 4 through
March 12. Food and other donations will be delivered to St. Edward and transported to
the Drexel House. Innkeepers will stay at the Drexel House with our Homeless Guests.
While our list of needs is modified from past years, there are still many volunteer
opportunities to safely provide for these least among us. Please use the link below to

Immaculate Mother, Blessed Sanctuary of love:
To You do we cry, hear our pleas,
We implore Your Maternal intercession at this moment In which the
scourge of illness threatens humanity. You, faithful protector of those
who humbly come to ask for Your favors, pray to the Holy Trinity to
send Its angelic protectors to combat this evil that befalls those who
belong to You.
May Your Holy Mantle be shield and shelter for all
of us who faithfully ask this favor, so that
our towns and homes be sealed by the Celestial
protection. We give you thanks Immaculate Mother for so great a
favor; Do not abandon us in this valley of tears, You are shield, shel-
ter and guide of those of us who cry out in one voice.
