No, for devices that don't need MDM, users can activate BlackBerryDynamics apps on BlackBerry UEM using access keys. 

You can generate and send access keys automatically as part ofonboarding, or at any time in the BlackBerry UEM console. Users can alsogenerate access keys in BlackBerry UEM Self-Service.

What does the BlackBerry UEMClient provide for devices thatare activated with user privacy?

You don't need to use the BlackBerry UEM Client to activate deviceswith user privacy, but if you do you can take advantage of the followingfeatures:

Noaccess key is required to activate BlackBerry Dynamics apps. You canconfigure the work app catalog to open in BlackBerry Access usingthe BlackBerry Dynamics Launcher. What are the upgradepaths from Good Controlto BlackBerry UEM?

If you have Good Control version 4.0 and later and Good Proxy version 4.0 andlater, you must first upgrade all instances to BlackBerry UEM version 12.7 or12.8 and synchronize the environment before you can upgrade to BlackBerryUEM version 12.9.

If you have an earlier version of Good Control or Good Proxy, you must firstupgrade it to Good Control or Good Proxy version 4.0 or later, then upgrade toBlackBerry UEM 12.7 or 12.8 and synchronize the environment before you canupgrade to BlackBerry UEM version 12.9.

Does BlackBerry UEM havetwo databases?

No. During the upgrade to BlackBerry UEM version 12.9, data from the GoodControl database is merged into the BlackBerry UEM database, and only theBlackBerry UEM database is used from that point forward.

Can Good Dynamicsenabled users be movedbetween BlackBerry UEMdomains?

No. You cannot move Good Dynamics enabled users between BlackBerry UEMdomains.

A BlackBerry UEM domain consists of a BlackBerry UEM database and anyBlackBerry UEM components that are associated with it.

Is there a migration tool orutility for migrating users,policies, and configurationinformation from GoodControl to BlackBerryUEM?

Yes. You can use the BlackBerry UEM management console to migrate users,devices, groups, and other data from a Good Control (standalone) server. Tomove data from Good Control to BlackBerry UEM, the source Good Controlserver must be at version 5.0 and must not be integrated with BES12 orBlackBerry UEM in any way. Can multiple Good Controlclusters be upgraded andconsolidated into a singleBlackBerry UEM domain?

No. You must upgrade each Good Control cluster to its own BlackBerry UEMdomain.

Note: If you want to combine multiple Good Control clusters, you can upgradeone to BlackBerry UEM and then migrate users, devices, groups, and other datafrom the remaining Good Control (standalone) clusters.

Are apps in GoodControl synchronized to BlackBerryUEM during the upgrade?

BlackBerry Dynamics apps that are entitled to your organizationare automatically added to BlackBerry UEM when you performthe synchronization between Good Control and BlackBerry UEM.However, for custom BlackBerry Dynamics apps, the entitlements aresynchronized but you must re-upload the source files to BlackBerryUEM. When you upgrade from GoodControl to BlackBerry UEM, canthe work app catalog be accesseddirectly from the BlackBerryDynamics Launcher?

If the Good AppStore is configured for access from the GoodLauncher before you upgrade to BlackBerry UEM, this configurationwill persist after you upgrade, and no changes to the GoodAppStore configuration occur when you upgrade to BlackBerry UEM.

 Both the work app catalog and Good AppStore can be configured tobe available in the BlackBerry Dynamics Launcher independently. What app should be used as theprimary authentication delegatewhen managing BlackBerryDynamics using BlackBerry UEM?

Can the work app catalog bepublished to users outside myorganization?

Yes. You can add local users toBlackBerry UEM that are not added toa company directory. These users can then activate with BlackBerryUEM (for example, in User Privacy mode) and gain access to the workapp catalog. For more information, see Create a user account.

Can I manage BlackBerryDynamics apps on SamsungKNOX and Android devices that usea work profile?

Yes. You can manageBlackBerry Dynamics apps on SamsungKNOX and Android devices that use a work profile in the same waythat you would manage other work apps on these devices. For moreinformation on managing apps in BlackBerry UEM, see Apps.

Is BlackBerry Dynamics appentitlement at the version levelin BlackBerry UEM like it wasin Good Control? 

No. After the synchronization is complete, if any app version wasentitled to a user, regardless if one version was denied, then the app isentitled at the app level in BlackBerry UEM.

Yes, you have to unenroll from Good Control MDM and re-enroll withBlackBerry UEM as part of the upgrade from Good Control MDM toBlackBerry UEM MDM. Either the user or the administrator can initiatethe BlackBerry Control MDM unenrollment.

Are the Good Control MDM settingsautomatically synchronized toBlackBerry UEM as part of theupgrade?

No, the MDM settings must be configured in BlackBerry UEM.

What happens to Good Controlusers and devices that are MDM-enrolled after you upgrade toBlackBerry UEM?

BlackBerry recommends that you enroll any MDM managed deviceswith BlackBerry UEM before you perform the synchronization. Afteryou upgrade to BlackBerry UEM, there is no impact to Good Controlusers or MDM-enabled devices until you perform the synchronizationbetween BlackBerry UEM and Good Control. After the synchronizationis complete, all devices that were assigned to a Device Policy inGood Control with MDMs enabled are unmanaged and any managedBlackBerry Dynamics apps are removed from the devices. Yes. BlackBerry UEM has comprehensive enterprise app store and app distributioncapabilities that are fully integrated with other EMM functions. You can manageapps for directory or local users for all devices type including BYOD and corporateliable. You can create app groups that can be assigned to users, user groups, ordevice groups, making app management more efficient and consistent in yourorganization.

App management features include integrated app store search, ability to set appsas optional or required, ability to monitor app installation using compliance rules,support for Apple's Volume Purchase Program, creation of restricted app lists,user access to a work app catalog on devices, and creation of app categories, userratings, and reviews. What is the transitionpath from AppCentralto BlackBerry UEM?

CAUTION: AppCentral has been decommissioned. If a device has aVPP license that was assigned through AppCentral and you activate thedevice on BlackBerry UEM, it will consume two VPP licenses for the sameapplication. Contact BlackBerry Technical Support for assistance.

If you transition to the standalone Good Control, you can use the EasyActivation feature with BlackBerry Work using Good for Enterprise as theactivation delegate. 

This option is not available when you transition from Good forEnterprise to BlackBerry Work using BlackBerry UEM. If the BlackBerryUEM Client is installed on a device, it acts as the activation delegate andusers do not have to enter a 15 character access key.

Are the Good for Enterprise MDMsettings migrated andsynchronized with BlackBerryUEM automatically as part of thetransition?

No, you must configure the MDM settings independently in BlackBerryUEM.
