BlackPearl: Utilizes built-in data policies (Advanced Bucket Management) to move data to any storage target via Spectra S3. An organization can determine the number and types of storage targets for its data (disk, tape or cloud), and the length of time to store data on each target, allowing for a clean, tiered archive.

Replication enables offsite storage providing multi-site geographic separa-tion from the primary storage location. Built-in replication delivers protection through multiple copies in multiple locations on multiple BlackPearls, all while providing peace of mind that data will be available when needed.

Disk StorageObject-based disk storage for BlackPearl provides fast and random access to data at a fraction of the cost of primary storage. With two types of disk media, organizations utilize the enterprise drives for instant access to changing data, and archive drives to store infrequently used data. With the benefit of ArcticBlue's advanced idling, the system saves power while also extending the life of the drives.

From terabytes to exabytes of storage capacity, tape offers the reliability and affordability needed to store your data forever, or as long as you need. With the ability to eject tapes for offline and offsite storage, the cost of constructing an affordable object store archive has never been lower. BlackPearl supports multiple tape partitions, with multiple tape drive types, and ejected media – all without additional license fees.

Public CloudLooking to the clouds? BlackPearl has the ability to copy data to multiple public cloud offerings for a hybrid cloud storage approach. With the option of keeping a local copy ensures cloud is used in the most economical way, avoiding the hit of unexpected cloud retrieval costs.
