  • Welcome & Merry Christmas

to Everyone! The Nativity of the Lord

Today we celebrate the most decisive moment in the salvation history – the birth of the savior. The long waiting for the promised savior is coming to an end. The ‘forsaken’ humankind is brought forth to the land of light. Jews expected of a savior who would be born in a palace as the son of a king.

He came down to the level of the poor, the neglected, the oppressed, the margin-alized and the outcastes. Jesus who was divine, was born not in a palace, but in a manger. His parents were not famous personalities, but were from common folks; his companions were not clothed in dazzling garments, but poor animals taking shelter from the freezing night; He completely emptied himself because he loved us. Christmas is the story of how God became one of us in order to be closer to us and to save us. He takes up the task of abandoning his heavenly bliss and coming down to the level of the lowest of the lowly.

That is something I find so special in Christmas: God becoming accessible and tangible to the poorest of the poor. As God became accessible to human touch and, that too, to the touch of the downtrodden of the society, am I really becoming available and accessible to the people of God, the poor and the abandoned in my day to day life? Christmas is essentially the greatest sacrifice of God. There is no sacrifice without love. What is the spirit of Christmas for us today? It is to make room for all who are sad, empty in their lives, that that are depressed and discard-ed by others.

WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS. May Jesus be reborn in your heart and life during Christmas 2020 and every day of the New Year 2021. May He radiate His presence from within you as sharing love, unconditional forgiveness, humble service and overflowing generosity.
