What we will see
Helicopter flight over Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains
Mount Dalsnibba, rugged cliffs, waterfalls, farms, glaciers
What we will do
We will take to the skies for this excursion on a helicopter ride and soar over one of the most famous and spectacular fjords
in Norway: Geirangerfjord, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
We will cover the full length of the fjord, around 15 km, starting at sea level and rising to the summit of the surrounding snow-
capped mountains: we will be amazed by the breathtaking views and steep, rugged cliffs with powerful waterfalls (such as the
'Seven Sisters' or 'Bridal Veil Falls'), which create light veils of mist that produce an endless display of ever-changing rainbows,
which will leave us lost for words.
We will fly to Mount Dalsnibba, 1500 metres high, which towers over the tourist town of Geiranger, located at the end of the
fjord. We will be able to see small farms from up here, nestled in the foothills of the mountains, and higher up glaciers with ice
caves and small icy waterfalls.
As we fly back along the fjord to return to base, we will notice the lush vegetation beneath us, a fundamental part of this wild
and exciting natural landscape.
The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes.
The flight, landing and routes may be subject to change depending on weather conditions and are at the pilot’s discretion.
The flight times are indicative and include landing.

What we will see
Geirangerfjord: breathtaking scenery and clifftop farms
What we will do
The Geirangerfjord is described as the most beautiful fjord in the world: we will set off on a kayak journey surrounded by
magnificent and striking mountains, which, with their steep faces, reach heights of up to 1,500 metres.
Grip those paddles and away we go: we will admire the breathtaking scenery and the farms perched on their rocky outcrops.
According to local folklore, farmers would tie ropes to their children and animals to prevent them from falling from the high
walls of rock. We will skim the waters and breathe in the extremely fresh air of the fjord: what better way to feel the strength
and greatness of mother nature in person than on a kayak tour?
Our kayak will follow the outline of the basin, which curves between two tower-shaped mountains. It is a magical and majestic
place at any time of the year.
After admiring the verdant nature and the striking rock formations of the fjord, we will set off on the return journey, during
which our guide will tell us the history of Geiranger and its population.
You must be physically fit to take part in this excursion and not suffer from back pain.
You must be able to swim.
No prior kayak experience is required.
The excursion includes a 5 minute walk to the kayak platform, where participants will receive safety instructions and
information on how to paddle.
Minimum age for the kayak excursion with an adult: 8.
Maximum weight: 120 kg.
Maximum height: 190 cm.
Minors under 12 years of age must share the kayak with an adult.
It is recommended that you only bring personal belongings which are strictly necessary; belongings will be left in a locked local
office.
Guests under 18 years must have the waiver signed by an adult (parent or guardian).

Summer farm of Herdalssetra: unspoilt nature, grazing animals and local specialities
Heregga Peak: wood houses with turf roofs
Herdøla River
What we will do
The excursion begins on the Ørnevegen (literally, 'Eagle Road'), which rises via 11 hairpin bends to the highest point of the
fjord, at a height of 620 metres. From here, we can enjoy the spectacular scenery of the fjord and the Knivsflå alpine farm.
This is the steepest section of road out of Geiranger and is the only means of communication with the outside world during
winter!
From here, it is possible to get a glance of the Seven Sisters, a group of 7 waterfalls which, together with the Suitor Waterfall
(located opposite on the other side), provide one of the most beautiful natural spectacles of all of the Norwegian fjords... as
well as being the subject of a fascinating legend.
We reach the village of Eidsdal in Norddalsfjord and follow the coast up to the village of Norddal.
Leaving the fjord, we head into the valley until we arrive at the summer farm of Herdalssetra. Operational for over 300 years,
it is formed of 30 old houses and for hundreds of years, has housed goats and cows, lambs and horses which are free to
graze. Here, old traditions are more alive than ever. Various types of white and brown goat's cheeses are produced here, as
well as other mountain delicacies typical of the Norwegian fjords. These form the basis of a special tasting session, which is
sure to delight the palate.
The dwellings we will see are small wood houses with turf roofs, purposely built under the large Heregga Peak, which protects
them from the frequent avalanches .
On the journey to the valley, we can admire the Herdøla River, which receives the waters from numerous waterfalls.
We arrive in Eidsdal then return to Geiranger via, once again, Ørnevegen, the 'Eagle Road'.

its very waters.
What we will see
Geirangerfjord: spectacular landscapes amongst majestic mountains and unspoilt scenery
Traditional mountain farms
Seven Sisters Waterfall and Bridal Veil Falls
What we will do
Our tour begins at the port: we will be welcomed by our guide and will walk approximately 200 metres to our raft.
Before setting off on this stirring excursion on the waters of the fjord, we prepare ourselves by listening to some brief safety
instructions and we put on the windproof and waterproof coverall provided.
Now the real excitement begins: our Geirangerfjord adventure can begin!
The raft goes increasingly fast and the extremely pure air of the fjord can be felt on our faces providing a great sense of
freedom whilst we admire the majestic landscape.
Our helmsman will amaze us with a host of spectacular manoeuvres injecting a little adrenaline to the experience. The raft
journey is not just about speed: the helmsman will slow down when approaching some small mountain farms located along the
Geirangerfjord and will tell us a little bit about their history in English.
We will admire the Seven Sisters Waterfall and Bridal Veil Falls up close, two of Norway's most important waterfalls, and we
will discover the legend that lies behind their names. An unforgettable experience!

Give in to the charms of Molde, capital of the county of Romsdal, in the south-west of Norway, and discover a landscape sprinkled
with roses, the flower that has become a symbol of the city, and other interesting activities.
What we will see
Molde
Romsdal Museum
Molde Cathedral
Varden viewpoint
What we will do
We leave the port and head for the centre of Molde, administrative centre of the County of Romsdal. The city is located on the
shores of the Romsdal fjord, surrounded by hills that provide a backdrop of 222 peaks that are covered in snow almost all the
year round. Molde is also known as the City of Roses, thanks to the fragrant rose nurseries that benefit from the mild climate
and fertile soil of the sun-drenched slopes surrounding the city.
Our tour then takes us to the Romsdal Museum, a large open-air folk museum complex comprising 50 traditional buildings
that not only recount the history of Norway, from the Vikings to the present day, but also provide examples of the architecture,
traditions and the way of life of the local population. The most interesting exhibit is Bygata street, a reconstruction of a 20th-
century street that highlights the evolution of houses in this part of Norway.
The next stop is Molde Cathedral. Consecrated in 1957, it boasts a beautifully decorated interior. Standing next to the church
there is a 50 m-tall bell tower, which is capped with a copper-clad pyramid.
Our last stop is the Varden viewpoint, a vantage point 400 m above sea level, where we can immortalise the view of Molde
and the surrounding fjords with a photo or two.
Only a limited number of Italian speaking guides are available.

Our excursion takes us to Molde, administrative centre of the county of Romsdal. The city is located on the shores of the

Molde is also known as the City of Roses, thanks to the fragrant rose nurseries that benefit from the mild climate and fertile
soil of the sun-drenched slopes surrounding the city.
We climb to 400 m above sea level to the Varden viewpoint, where the belvedere offers wonderful views over the
Romsdalsfjord, the myriad of little islands that lie scattered in front of the city and the mountains on the other side of the fjord.
Next on our itinerary is Molde itself, a city that is full of shops. The city owes its rather modern appearance to its destruction
during the Second World War, after which it was largely rebuilt.
We cut through a residential area, featuring typical, wooden, family homes, almost all of which are surrounded by well-tended
gardens.
We stop for a snack and a rest and we do so in the best way possible, by sampling a local speciality, svele, a traditional
Norwegian variety of pancake.
Our tour then takes us to the Romsdal Museum, a large open-air folk museum complex comprising 50 traditional buildings
that not only recount the history of Norway, from the Vikings to the present day, but also provide examples of the architecture,
traditions and the way of life of the local population.
As we climb up Reknes Hill behind the museum, we can enjoy a view of the city and its surroundings from a different
perspective.
We then head downwards again, and wind our way through the city to the House of Culture.
At the end of the excursion we head back to the jetty.

the status of National Tourist Route.
We head towards Hustadvika, a stretch of water that can be spectacular to look at when rough, but which is not much loved

Ølen and the Unni Marie Rosemaling Centre, unique artworks and an enchanting garden
What we will do
We set off on board our coach for a scenic tour that, over about an hour and a half, leads us towards the Åkrafjorden.
First, we cut through Haugesund, passing the famous city hall – considered the most handsome in all of Norway – and a
number of residential districts before heading into open country.
Our first stop is a truly magical place, the Langfoss waterfall. With a total drop of 612 m, it is the fifth-highest waterfall in
Norway, and was included in CNN’s list of the ten most beautiful waterfalls in the world, a judgement echoed in many other
quarters.
A boat will be waiting to whisk us across the blue waters of the fjord to the base of this natural wonder which, according to
legend, has mysterious powers that can boost fertility.
We disembark, then, at Eljarvik Farm – where we risk remaining spellbound by the breathtaking view of the falls – and enjoy a
delicious lunch before boarding our coach once again.
Our next stop is Ølen where we make a brief visit to Unni Marie Rosemaling, a one-of-a-kind structure that houses a tourist
information office, a small shop and a workshop.
Here, we find something rather unique waiting for us: Unni Marie is an internationally renowned artist who specialises in
rosemaling (painting images of roses), a traditional art form in Norway that is on display both on the outside of the building and
in the shop, where numerous items are available for purchase.
We also visit the charming garden at the back of the house, which is tended by Unni Marie herself who, it turns out, also has
green fingers.
Our excursion has nearly reached its end, but it has one more treat in store, as we enjoy a little free time and a sightseeing
tour of Haugesund.

countryside: from the most spectacular landscapes the Norwegian fjords have to offer to a museum dedicated to the Second World
War.
What we will see
The city of Haugesund and the pristine surrounding countryside
The Arquebus War Museum
The Steinsfjellet viewpoint
The Haraldshaugen national monument
What we will do
This scenic excursion takes us on a journey exploring the area east of the coastal town of Haugesund. Along with its
spectacular natural landscape, Haugesund boasts a unique and fascinating history: not only was the Statue of Liberty made
using copper from one of its mines, but it can also claim to be the original “fatherland” of Marilyn Monroe, whose grandfather
worked locally as a baker before emigrating to the United States. Not bad for a town that was only recognised as a separate
municipality in 1854!
The highlight of our time in Haugesund is a visit to the Arquebus War Museum (Arquebus Krigshistorisk Museum). Located in
the inner stretch of the Førresfjord, this museum brings to life various events associated with the Second World War, from the
everyday lives of local people, the merchant navy’s contribution to the war effort, defence operations and the 1940 invasion,
the enemy positions along the coast, the liberation, the fall of Berlin in 1945, and the allied victory in Europe. During our visit,
we learn all sorts of fascinating details. For instance, the word Arquebus comes from the code name adopted by a local
resistance fighter for communications made using a clandestine radio transmitter. The museum is the largest in Norway, with
over 2,000 m² of exhibit space housed in an old farm building. The exhibits include manikins dressed in genuine uniforms and
historical costumes.
Following our visit to the museum, we make our way to the Steinsfjellet viewpoint which, at 227 metres above sea level, and
with breathtaking views of Haugesund and the surrounding area, is a favourite spot among locals for walks and trips to the
country.
The next stop is at the Haraldshaugen, a national monument erected in 1872 to commemorate the thousand-year
anniversary of the Battle of Hafrsfjord, which was fought and won by King Harald Hårfagre (Harald Fairhair) at Hafrsfjord near
Stavanger in 872, leading to the unification of Norway. Harald Hårfagre established his court at Avaldsnes, on the nearby
island of Karmøy, while the monument stands at a location believed to be the site of his burial, about 3 km north of the centre
of Haugesund.

Tour of the island of Røvær
Tasting of a flavoursome fish soup
What we will do
This excursion takes us to the island of Røvær which lies approximately 10 km north west of Haugesund, in the Norwegian
county of Rogaland.
There is a regular maritime transport express service between Røvær, the island near Feøy and the town of Haugesund.
Many residents of the island also have a private boat with a car parked in Haugesund which they use on the mainland.
The island of Røvær, or rather the islands which make up the archipelago of the same name, extend for 1.4 km² and have
about 100 permanent residents (data of 2014), as well as seasonal residents and visitors who rent holiday homes or stay at
the Røvær Seahouse (Røvær Sjøhus) or at the more recent Røvær Culture Hotel (Røvær Kulturhotell).
The permanent residents who are not retired practise agriculture, fishing, work on the ferries, teach at the local island school,
work on the salmon farms or are commuters to the mainland. During our visit to the island, we’ll be able to try a tasty fish soup
before returning to Haugesund.

Himakånå rock
What we will do
Our coach will take us on a sightseeing tour heading east through picturesque lands that cut through the waters of the
countless inlets dotted around the fjord, with sparkling lakes and unspoilt nature as far as the eye can see.
We will reach the village of Hinderåvåg, which lies on the banks of the Boknafjorden, and we will embark on a fantastic walking
excursion following a relatively easy route that winds through the mountains amidst woods and open fields.
Along the way, we will come across a number of viewpoints where we can admire the surrounding scenery, as we feel
completely immersed in an environment where nature still reigns supreme.
The landscape becomes increasingly barren and rocky until we reach Himakånå, a spectacular rock that juts out over the fjord
which stands out against the blue sky. We will be struck by the breathtaking view there: below us, steep mountains tower over
the majestic waters of the fjord, offering us unforgettable memories.
The excursion is suitable for all ages but participants must be used to walking.

Our itinerary continues to a magnificent peninsula in the Kungsbacka fjord, location of the marvellous Tjolöholm castle, built
between 1898 and 1904 by James Fredrik and Blanche Dicksond in a perfect Elizabethan style on a design by the architect
Lars Israel Wahlman. Before entering the castle, our guide provides us with some general information on the building and its
fascinating architecture.
While the façade presents typical 16th-century and Tudor elements, the interior is a splendid example of Art Nouveau and
William Morris style.
Despite the many fireplaces, the building is heated by a hot air pipe system. The three bathrooms were, at the time, equipped
with showers and sunken bathtubs and the property had its own power generator, making the project very modern.
After visiting the interior of the castle and before returning to the ship, we have some free time available to explore and

The first stop on our tour takes us to the picturesque fishing village of Klädesholmen, famous all over Sweden for its herring
production which started off stored in containers and small barrels towards the end of the 1800s.
Nowadays, almost half of the pickled herrings in Sweden comes from Klädesholmen, where there is also a small herring

houses, a harbour and many fishing boats.
We continue across this lovely island as far as another characteristic fishing village nestled among the rocks and directly
overlooking the North Sea: Skärhamn. With its 3000 inhabitants, it is the main settlement on the island. The walk along the

The village of Skärhamn is also famous for its Nordic Watercolour Museum which is built on stilts among the rocks smoothed

We begin our sightseeing tour of Göteborg by admiring its most famous sights such as the Opera House, a majestic Post-
Modern building overlooking the water, the Chalmers University of Technology with its 13 departments founded in 1829 by
William Chalmers, director of the Swedish East India Company, the Gustav Adolf square, hub of the public life, seat of the
Town Hall and named after the 17th-century Swedish king and great leader who founded Göteborg, and the Avenyn
boulevard, the shopping street brimming with life and boasting many pubs, restaurants and fashionable shops and filled with
street artists entertaining the tourists as well as the locals.
Our guide also shows us other more hidden sights but just as interesting and true symbols of the city.
Among them, we see the Feskekôrka, whose name in Swedish means “fish church” and which derives from the fact that the
building looks like a Gothic Revival church. It is in fact an indoor fish market overlooking the canal and looks just like a church.
It also features many restaurants and delis where we can savour the typical products of the western coast (lobsters, prawns,
oysters and shrimp).
We continue our itinerary by admiring the granite fountain by Tore Strindberg located in the centre of Järntorget square
inside a square pedestal. It features 5 female sculptures representing the five Continents.
The next stop takes us to the Skansen Kronan fortress, surrounded by 23 cannons and built during the second half of the
17th century with a defensive function against the Danish attack from the south. The fortress is now a private facility used for
congresses as well as for events and weddings.
After visiting the fortress, we stop briefly for photos near the Röda Sten art gallery (meaning “red stone” in Swedish), a famous
centre for contemporary art located in an old industrial district under the Älvsborg bridge. Its name derives from the nearby
red varnished stones and the gallery is divided into four levels hosting temporary exhibitions and events.
We then reach the famous Götaplatsen, inaugurated in 1923 on the occasion of an international fair to celebrate the 300th
anniversary of the founding of the city. At the centre of the square, which is the city's cultural hub, we admire the majestic
bronze statue of Poseidon by Carl Milles.
We then have some free time for lunch and to discover the wide range of products local shops have to offer.
One last stop awaits us after our lunch and shopping break and before returning to the ship: a stroll in the company of our
guide around the Haga district, renowned for its picturesque houses made partly of brick and partly of wood, its 19th-century
atmosphere and its many cafés. It was born as a suburb inhabited by the working class but it evolved over the years to
become one of the most popular destinations with both tourists and locals, especially after many buildings were refurbished or
rebuilt during the 1980s.

Opera House overlooking the water.
By walking along the western part of the bay, we reach a residential area just a stone’s throw from the city centre.

At the end of the magnificent Avenyn boulevard, we come across another famous square: Götaplatsen, inaugurated in 1923
on the occasion of an international fair to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city. The square represents
the cultural hub of the city with its Auditorium, Art Museum, Theatre and Municipal library. At the centre of the square, we
admire the majestic bronze statue of Poseidon by Carl Milles and one of the city’s symbols.
We continue our tour exploring the district hosting events of all kind such as the Svenska Mässan exhibition and congress
centre, the gigantic Liseberg amusement park filled with thrilling attractions suitable for all ages and visited every year by
around 3 million people and the Ullevi Stadion built for the 1958 Football World Cup of and now home to the local team, IFK
Göteborg. This magnificent multi-purpose stadium can hold 43,000 spectators during football matches and 75,000 for
concerts and shows.
The itinerary continues with an interesting visit to Masthuggskyrkan, a church built in 1914 in the Swedish Romantic style and
one of the city’s symbols as well as a popular tourist attractions thanks to its incredible vantage point.
After visiting the church, we continue towards the Haga district, renowned for its picturesque wooden houses, its 19th-century
atmosphere and its many cafés. It started off as a suburb inhabited by the working class but it evolved over the years to
become one of the most popular destinations for both tourists and locals, especially after many buildings were refurbished or
rebuilt during the 1980s.
After our visit to Haga, we have some free time available before returning to the ship.

Kühlungsborn: relax on the beach, Strandkorb, coffee and cake in the hotel
What we will do
This excursion offers the opportunity to spend some time enjoying and relaxing on the Baltic coast. The excursion begins on-
board a coach providing a short panoramic tour en-route to Warnemünde and the surrounding countryside right up to Bad
Doberan.
Within this very small city, we will admire the beautiful red-brick Cathedral of 1368, one of the best examples of Gothic
architecture within northern Germany. The Cathedral also presents traces of evident influence of the dominating Gothic style,
elements which feature in other Hanseatic churches and features typical of the buildings of the monks of Zisterzienser during
the period.
Once we have visited the Cathedral, we will take the coach to the station with the extremely narrow railway gauges to board
the 'Molli' train. On-board the appealing little steam trainwe will pass through a magical landscape, amongst forests and small
villages, until we reach Kühlungsborn, which since 1880 has been one of the most famous beach resorts in Germany.
Once we arrive, we will have free time to take a walk on the beach, wet our feet in the fresh waters of the Baltic or simply
relax seated in the typical Strandkorb special wooden beach chairs covered with a wicker layer used on Nordic beaches to
protect from the sun but sometimes also the wind and rain.
At the end of this pleasant excursion, we will go to one of the hotels along the coast for a coffee and a delicious slice of cake.

What we will do
We will set off from the port of Warnemünde on a panoramic journey to Lubecca, to arrive at Holstentor, the first stop on our
excursion. We will stop here to take photographs bringing the 15th Century port to life, a symbol of the glorious past of the
city, the queen of the Hanseatic League.
The walking tour begins in the historic centre of the city, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
We will follow our guide amidst the alleys and courtyards to arrive in the vicinity of the seven peaks, which form part of the
city's main churches, and continue on up until the Hospital of the Holy Spirit. Built in 1280, the hospital is not only one of the
oldest social institutions but also represents one of the most important monumental buildings of the Middle Ages.
We will continue our walking tour to arrive at the ancient City Hall, built in the 13th Century and considered one of the oldest
and most magnificent in Germany.
Of great interest are the numerous 16th and 17th Century aristocratic residences and the salt warehouses.
It would be wrong not to stop at the House of Buddenbrook, former home to the writers Heinrich and Thomas Mann, who
were actually born in Lubecca.
The guided tour will end at the Marzipan Salon of the Niederegger Bakery, where it is possible to admire many small
sculptures and items made using this famous paste.
