My model & Styling's • Throughout my magazine I only want the one model.• I will take my styling’s for my model from existing artists and icons such as

Jamie T, The Drums, Pigeon Detectives and Arctic Monkeys Alex Turner.• Ideally, my model would have stand out cheekbones, little blemishes on

the face. This would be key because what I have described fits in the with the typical “Indie-Pop” music artists already out there.

• I chose to take my styling’s from these in particular artists because they all, in one way or another, fit into the Indie-Pop category. The majority of them also dress in a way that I think would look appropriate on my front cover and I could put my own twist on it when dressing my model.

Front Cover• For my front cover, I am going to show my model in a close up shot.• I want everything on the front cover to allow the model to stand out off the

page, apart from the masthead which will be a red colour, to make the model and masthead more appealing.

• I want to have my front cover laid out in this way because I think it links in with the genre of my magazine, indie-pop, which is all about being different from the majority and standing out. Also other magazines in my genre tend to give bold statements from artists interviewed in the magazine.

• I would not have the model using any props in this picture as I feel it would take the eye away from the model and it would lose effectiveness.

• I’d choose to have the model dressed in a way that they would dress in everyday life. This will immediately say to the reader that it is a personal article on the artist because if it was a more formal one that artist would have been over dressed, in a suit for example.

Contents Page• Ideally, I'd like my contents page to follow a similar theme to that on the front

cover, this being a plain and dulled out background, with a stand out image of the artist. However, i would also like for the main page numbers to stand out on the page with their titles.

• I will make it clear that my artist is the most important aspect of the page by placing the page numbers and other information around him and not on top of him. This will allow him to stand out to the reader as they will be able to recognise that he’s so important that the words have to make space for him.

• I will show my artist in a medium shot. I will do thins because i feel that after showing him in a close up on the front cover, it is slowly showing the reader more and more of the artist, while also presenting them with more information as the magazine goes on.

• The artist will be dressed differently to the front cover in this one but dressing in similar clothes that also follow the style of “indie-pop”

• I have also though about having a prop involved in this image, but I am unsure at the moment what could be used effectively.

Double Page Spread • In my double page spread, I want my model on the right hand side of the two

pages, with a white background so the artist and text stand out.• I will use a long shot of the artist in order to show fully what he is wearing and

all body languages that might be given off. I believe that this will show the artist in a powerful way, which could be linked with his presence in the music industry.

• On these two pages I want the artists name in large, bold letters, above a large quote that he had said in the interview that followed. I believe that these two features will work well because they have the tendency to grab a readers eye if they are just flicking past the page, and by doing this it is likely to increase people knowledge of the artist.

• The image of my model will run over onto both of the pages. The model will be dressed in a formal way, e.g. Blazer, etc. I have chosen this form of dress for the double page spread because it is the most formal part of their role in the magazine, as we find out the most about them, due to the interview.
