2015 marks the 70th anniversary of this event and the theme this year is: “Books Light up our World”.

Schools and Public Libraries across Australia celebrate the official week, which this year runs from Saturday 22 August - Friday 28 August, with many special activities including Book Week costume parades and dress up days.

Classic Book Week Characters

Lewis Carroll’s enduringly popular tale of a girl who falls down a rabbit hole to a weird and wonderful kingdom ruled by the short-tempered Queen of Hearts is a classic source for Book Week character costumes.
