The Gift of Love - Kennedy Community AllianceWe appreciate Christ the King for being our partner supporting Kennedy High School students/family who are ecumenically vulnerable.  Some statistics….· At Kennedy High School 51% of our students receive Free or Reduced Lunch. Our feeder school,

Valley View Middle has 78% of their students on Free or Reduced Lunch.· We have an average of 28 students receiving a food bag on Fridays through our partnership

with VEAP.· In the 2017/2018 school year over 300 students received scholarships to participate in clubs,

sports and activities including field trips.· An average of 80 students visit the Pantry a month.They also accept gift cards to Target, Walmart, Cub and Holliday. 100% of your donation will go directly into the hand of need at Kennedy High School. Tai Chi classes at CTKWe will be offering 2 different Tai Chi classes starting in January. Each class will run for 7 weeks, $25 for each 7-week session. Payment should be made to CTK in advance of the first class.Class #1 will be Thursday mornings at 9:30, starting January 10th.Class #2 will be Saturday mornings at 10:00, starting January 12th.Classes are held in the West Chapel. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes (tennis shoes). Class are taught by certified instructor Linda Thompson.Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that can be done seated or standing (no laying on the floor). The style taught includes agile steps and exercised designed to enhance mobility, breathing and relaxation and mental well-being. The movements don't require deep bending or squatting, making it easier and more comfortable to learn.

PICK-UP CHOIR!Come be part of a pick-up choir on Sunday, Jan. 13th!

Singers of any age and experience (readers/non-readers, note-readers or not) can come early at 8:45am to prepare a lovely selection to share in worship that day. A great opportunity for families to sing together, those who cannot come to an evening rehearsal to sing with regular choir, and those who used to sing in high school or college choirs and miss it! There will be a part for everyone. No need to RSVP unless you want to let Bjorn know early. Singers meet in the sanctuary by the piano that morning. Come!
