A great opportunity for families to sing together, those who cannot come to an evening rehearsal to sing with regular choir, and those who used to sing in high school or college choirs and miss it! There will be a part for everyone. No need to RSVP unless you want to let Bjorn know early. Singers meet in the sanctuary by the piano that morning. Come!

January Gift of Love – Global Health MinistriesGlobal Health Ministries (GHM) "Helping The Hands That Heal", was founded in 1987 by returning Medical Missionaries in consultation with American Lutheran Church Mission Staff. Since then it has developed a nationwide network of supporters for Lutheran Hospitals and Health Care programs in more than 30 countries. GHM carries out its mission through the gathering and shipping of requested medical supplies and equipment to these partners. Project grants are also made. In 2014 GHM increased its emphasis of working to improve sustainability and effectiveness in management. CTK continues to support GHM through the Gift of Love and the service of volunteers.

Discipleship Discovery: Centering PrayerBeginning Wednesday, January 16 th , from 6-7:30pm, Pastor Rory will lead a six-week Discipleship Discovery Group on Centering Prayer. This group will learn about the practice of Centering Prayer, a tradition of Christian contemplation. A portion of our time will be spent in prayer. The rest of our time will be spent learning about important figures in Christian mysticism and how this form of contemplative prayer can radically change the way we see the world. This group is open to all people with a desire to focus on their prayer life, regardless of experience. Sign up at CTKB.org or in the Commons.

ONE BY ONE THEY CHANGED THE WORLDWomen of the Bible - Part 2 - Beginning January 23 rd

Once again, we will follow several women of the Bible on their journey of faith and their role in God’s plan. Women of that age had very little say in their own lives and are often overlooked in their contributions. We will learn about several heroines and how they changed the people around them. We will learn about the villainesses, and their missteps. But were they really the ‘bad girls’ history has made them out to be. Join me Wednesday nights, and learn more about the brave women of the Bible. Sign up at ctkb.org or in the Commons. Peace, Susan Hanson

Fix and FreezeJoin us after the Annual Meeting on January 27th for our Healthy Cooking on a Budget’s “Souper Bowl” Fix and Freeze event. We are making Chicken meatball and barley soup with kale, carrots and celery. All meals have the option of being tailored to your preference. We will meet in the main kitchen at 11:45am to prepare a meal that will be ready for any event whether it be the Super Bowl or a nice, easy family meal. We will get to dine together to taste-test the soup after we prep our meal. Sign-up in the commons.
