Time & Venue: Thu + Fri, 4:00 5:30 pm; IWZ, Campus Deutz, Betzdorfer Str. 2, ZN 3-1 Start & Finish: 24.10.13 31.01.14 Additional session: There will be an additional 4-hours class session on a Saturday. All participants are expected to ac- quire it: Schritte international 6, Kursbuch + Arbeitsbuch mit Audio-CD, Hueber Verlag, ISBN 978-3190018567, 14,99 € Final Exam: To receive credits for this module, passing the final exam is necessary. Work on an intercultural project, a presentation of the project work and regular attend- ance are expected and a prerequisite for taking the final exam. Exam Compo- nents: Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Writing. Final Exam date: Fri, January 31, 2014, 4:00 5:30 pm Attendance: You may miss a maximum of 6 contact hours (3 class sessions). It is possible to make up for another missed class session by handing in additional work and catching up on class content, but only after consultation with your teacher. If you miss more than the allowed class sessions, you may not take the final exam will not receive credit for the course. Assessment: Die Modulnote setzt sich aus folgenden Komponenten zusammen: regular and pro-active engagement in all class activities, completing homework [25 % of final mark] conducting a cultural studies project and presenting the results in class [25 % of final mark] final exam [50% of final mark] All assessment has to be marked 4,0 or higher receive credits for the course. Methods: All language modules offered by the Language Learning Center follow a learner centered and task-based methodology. The modules aim at helping students with a quick and effective acquisition of communicative competence in the for- eign language studied. An essential approach here is monolingual teaching: All modules are taught entirely in the foreign language. Please be open to this ap- proach as it will help to enhance your foreign language skills. Should there be a need for discussion in another language, please refrain from doing so until the end of the lesson or a break.

Course Outline Module 130WS13 German as a Foreign Language (Level B1.1 B1.2)

In our module courses, German for Exchange Students, you will systematically develop your knowledge of

German by training all four language skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking and

writing).
