Before Writing When you read the add, you

must make sure that you have understood what the employer is looking for, and then try to project that image without being dishonest.

While reading the add, select the key words that you may use later for writing your application letter.

Choose the appropriate structure and the required degree of formality: business like.

Cover Letter: Structure1. Inform about the position you are going to apply. For example: “Marketing Assistant.”

2. Don’t forget the reference number.

3. Use expressions such as Dear Sir, Dear Madam or the name of the person who is in charge of the recruitment process if you know it.

4. In your closings think about whether you know the recipient’s name. Do you remember when to use Yours Sincerely and Yours Faithfully???

Style and Content The style should be quite formal but showing

your personality. You cannot use contractions such as don’t Most of information is available in your CV.

Avoid repeating information unless it is extremely relevant for the position you are applying.

Write why are you suitable for the job, and why you want to change jobs, without being insulting to your present employers, if you are working.

Show that you are available for a job interview Say what documents you are enclosing

The most common words for CV are Curriculum Vitae or Resume

To whom it may concernThis expression is used for an open testimonial letter written by someone who knows for describing your qualities.

A reference letter is written directly to a specific employer by someone who knows you to express how suitable you can be for a particular job.
