It may be from the smallest events in life to the largest. And it is our reacons to these events or cir- cumstances that reflect how we feel about the situaon. For example, if my beloved Ken- tucky Wildcats get to a play in a prey big game in April (I am alluding specifics in order not to jinx it) and Kentucky conquers and reigns victoriously over the basketball world, not a sin- gle one of you would expect me to simply say, “Well that was an excellent athlec perfor- mance by both teams.” Of course not! If Kentucky does win, I will likely be unable to contain my excitement and joy for this long-overdue achievement. And I offer that somewhat ridicu- lous example because it exposes that my reacon reflects how I feel about the situaon. There are numerous examples throughout the New Testament where people encounter Je- sus in different formats. In some of these said formats, Jesus may simply talk or converse with an individual that society has turned their back to. In others, Jesus cures a man with leprosy or heals a paralyc. But regardless of their circumstances or situaons, one thing is consistent: their reacons. When the woman at the well in John 4 her reacon is essenal in determining how she felt about Jesus. In the same light, the man with leprosy as well as the paralyc both follow suit. And specifically to Jesus, their reacons expose how they feel about the Son of God. Our thoughts and prayers are with the James Scott family. James passed away Thursday night after a lengthy battle following his surgery. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Suggested Reading: John 4:1-38 / Mark 1:40-45 / Luke 5:17-26

Whether we know it or not, we react to every situation that we encounter in life. It may be from the smallest events in life to the largest. And it is our reactions to these events or cir-cumstances that reflect how we feel about the situation. For example, if my beloved Ken-tucky Wildcats get to a play in a pretty big game in April (I am alluding specifics in order not to jinx it) and Kentucky conquers and reigns victoriously over the basketball world, not a sin-gle one of you would expect me to simply say, “Well that was an excellent athletic perfor-mance by both teams.” Of course not! If Kentucky does win, I will likely be unable to contain my excitement and joy for this long-overdue achievement. And I offer that somewhat ridicu-lous example because it exposes that my reaction reflects how I feel about the situation.

There are numerous examples throughout the New Testament where people encounter Je-sus in different formats. In some of these said formats, Jesus may simply talk or converse with an individual that society has turned their back to. In others, Jesus cures a man with leprosy or heals a paralytic. But regardless of their circumstances or situations, one thing is consistent: their reactions. When the woman at the well in John 4 her reaction is essential in determining how she felt about Jesus. In the same light, the man with leprosy as well as the paralytic both follow suit. And specifically to Jesus, their reactions expose how they feel about the Son of God.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the

James Scott family. James passed away

Thursday night after a lengthy battle

following his surgery. Please keep this

family in your prayers.
