Faith Formation News Catechesis of the good Shepherd Coming to our Faith Formation — Although we are journeying through a time of uncertainty, we are excited to share that we are in the early stages of establishing the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program at St. Ferdinand. CGS is a Montessori-based approach to religious formation rooted in Sacred Scripture, Liturgy and respect for the child's rich relationship with God. We hope to launch CGS in our grouping in the next year.

Sunday Public Mass on Hold — Our churches will open to the public for weekday Mass beginning Monday, June 1, however, Sunday Mass is on hold while we implement best practices to protect public health. The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh recently announced that churches are permitted to resume corporate daily and Sunday worship after meeting the safety guidelines of its COVID-19 task force.

Weekday Mass is limited to 25 total participants. All present must wear masks, observe social distancing practices and check in so that we have a record of those in attendance. Monday-Friday Mass times are:

• St. Gregory - 8 am (Monday - Friday) • St. Ferdinand - 8:30 am • Holy Redeemer - 9 am Our grouping has established a committee with representation from each of our churches to ensure

completion of an extensive "reopening checklist" before resuming public Sunday Mass. Please know that the obligation to attend Sunday Mass has been lifted for the foreseeable future. We will continue to offer weekend Mass online.

Volunteers Sought — In order to hold public Masses, we need to clean and sanitize our churches after every service. Please call our parish offices if you are interested in volunteering. Volunteers will be trained and fully equipped to help. Call the parish office.

St. Gregory Parish Remembers — St. Gregory Parish remembers May 30, 1939 as the dedication day of St. Matthias Church and its members who built the Catholic Community in Evans City and who now bless our membership. St. Matthias was destroyed in a fire last year on the 29th of May.

The Southwest Butler Food Cupboard is once again accepting non-perishable, unopened and unexpired, food donations at the St. Gregory parish office vestibule. For more information go to: http://www.swbfoodcupboard.org/how-to-donate.html

PARISH SHARE NEWS

If you made a Donation to Parish Share during the month of March/April and did not make a pledge, which many do and the Parish is so grateful for your contribution, OSV apologizes that your donation was incorrectly reported back to you as no payment and that you owed a payment! OSV would like you to know they are working to resolve the problem and will correctly update you in the future The Parish Office would like you to know everyone’s donation weather a pledge or not has been recorded correctly into our database, which is completely separate from the work OSV performs for us.

Come, Creator Spirit Come, From your bright heavenly throne! Come, take possession of our souls, And make them all your own. You who are called the Paraclete, Best gift of God above, The living spring, the living fire, Sweet unction, and true love! You who are sevenfold in your grace, Finger of God’s right hand, His promise, teaching little ones To speak and understand! O guide our minds with your blessed light, With love our hearts inflame,

And with your strength which never decays Confirm our mortal frame. Far from us drive our hellish foe True peace unto us bring, And through all perils guide us safe Beneath your sacred wing. Through you may we the Father know, Through you the eternal Son And you the Spirit of them both Thrice-blessed three in one. All glory to the Father be, And to the risen Son; The same to you, O Paraclete, While endless ages run. Amen.
