Website• The main website is one whole page and offers links navigating

you to each section, firstly it shows videos and then news, tours, previous music and a social media feed.A store is also available to buy

merchandise such as tees and caps.

The website is very barebones and simple but it reflects on how Vince Staples isn’t a very big artist and doesn’t try to act rich or famous by having a extravagant website.

Album Cover• The album cover continues from

the black and white theme of the website and the video. It doesn’t show the artist on the cover but instead shows something to represent the album, the crashing waves link in with the theme of the album which is Vince’s summertime as a kid and also the name of the album.

• The dust and dirt on the cover conveys a gritty feel which is apparent in all of Vince's music and clearly the image is more important the artist or album name because it is larger.

• The cover is also a reference to Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures album which Vince has stated he is a fan of.

“Norf Norf” Music Video• The music video for one of Vince

Staples lead singles, Norf Norf is filmed in all black and white. The video follows Vince as he is arrested and then put into jail. The focus is on Vince for the whole video as he raps toward the camera, we can tell this story is about him in the past. The video contains common genre conventions for hip hop music because it shows the artist being arrested and put in jail, it also shows his hood, which he constantly mentions in this song “North side long beach!”. In the video all of the criminals are black suggesting the police are against black men.

“Norf Norf” Music Video• The video further links to the lyrics as the

hook is “I ain’t never ran from nothing but the police” which suggests he dislikes cops and isshown in the video as him being rude and resisting when he is interrogated.

• In the final shot of the video we see him laid back in his cell suggesting he had been there before and doesn’t care, this further shows his “gangsta” attitude.
