INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTIONProject Title: Bahay Isdaan: An Artificial Coral Reef Project
Problem Statement:
*Many fish population starts to decrease and destruction of coral reef systems are happening due to destructive fishing.
*Youth’s Apathy towards environmental awareness specially on waste management
Community Needs:
1. Enough fish harvest for their family and market.
2. Safe place against big waves.
3. Clean environment speciaaly when children swims on the front beach.
Objectives: • To deploy properly the artificial coral reefs to sustain the possible growing marine life which will inhabit the reefs.
• To increase the population of fish and support other marine life.• To increase the awareness of youth towards proper waste management.
Solution Statement:
*A coral reefs installment would be done to attract marine life and acts as a shelter for fish as well as breeding place to increase their population
*Conduct a clean-up drive, games and seminar about environment for the youths
*Impose school policy on waste management
Outputs: 10 groups ( 5 members each to conduct plastic waste collection and attend seminar on environmental awareness)100 youths to join a Fun Run after which games will be facilitated and also a short plenary to tackle about waste management and marine life conservation.50 youths to attend during the deployment of artificial coral reefs
Outcomes: *Artificial coral reefs will support and Increase marine life forms which would give the fisherman good harvest enough for their family and the market.*Increase the engagement of youth on environmental related activities and encourage them to practice proper waste management.*Implementation of school policy on proper waste management.

How do you ensure sustainability?– To ensure sustainability. The artificial coral reefs
must be checked once a month to check if it was broken or any marine life starts to form on it. More so, a regular clean up drive must be done and locals must practice proper waste management within their community.
– The volunteer schools should follow and implement strictly the policy they made on waste management so the effects would be attainable and conduct of clean up drives regularly
