It supports the im- plementation of effective instructional practices, fa- cilitates an environment of instructional experimen- tation, and enhances the skills needed to engage students in the learning process. The CTE will pro- vide a community forum for the exchange of ideas and innovative instructional practices that lead to high levels of student learning. Resources Website: The CTE website (http://cte.ggc.edu) offers many valuable teaching and learning resources. There is a tab for the CTE under the faculty/staff menu in the my.ggc.edu portal. Library Holdings: Check out the CTE journal and book holdings in the library for scholarship on teaching and learning. Newsletter: The Teacher’s Edge is a quarterly newsletter with articles and content by faculty and staff. Electronic versions of the newsletters are available on the CTE web- site. DevelopmentHybrid Fellows: GGC provides support to faculty for the creation of courses that blend face-to-face learning with significant online ac-tivities.

New Faculty Academy: New faculty par-ticipate in workshops focusing on issues critical to success in the classroom and at the college.

Master Teachers: Through group readings, workshops and presentations, GGC faculty gain higher level knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning pedagogy

Reading Circles: Faculty and Staff gather to explore common reading topics.

The college requires GGC faculty to offer online activities that ultimately equip our students with strategies to succeed in a technology-rich envi-ronment using the Desire2Learn learning management system (LMS). The Center provides workshops and individual consultations on Desire-2Learn tools and topics related to online pedagogy throughout the aca-demic year.

Provide one-on-one consultation and direction in developing projects and in designing innovative applications. Consult with faculty in effective use of classroom technology. Train faculty to use classroom presentation equipment Demonstrate new products and technology applications Conduct classroom observation and evaluation
