Biometric deviceJan 2015 to presentModifying, building and maintaining an open source Android project. Ensuring devices and systems work on a custom Android hardware platform. Technologies used. The device incorporated many peripherals including fingerprint readers, a palm vein scanner, an iris scanner, a signature pad, a HID card reader, a barcode scanner and a thermal printer.

Forward on AndroidJan 2016 to May 2016Created a native Android app to connect via Web Api to a MS Web Server. App was created in Android Studio, and uses Android navigation drawers. Menus are loaded dynamically from the server. Reports are loaded based on input forms (Android fragments) which too are generated dynamically based on information returned from the server. Data is requested from the server using http post and get methods.

All tablets access a MySQL Server running on Ubuntu. Server coding is done using NodeJS with ZeroMq being used for the messaging layer.

GeotaggerAugust 2014 – January 2015A  Dockable Windows application using C#, Visual Studio with the Devexpress docking library. The app allows users to plan routes for vehicles on a Google map (or Bing) view. The user would plan a route by clicking on the map creating waypoints. Waypoints can be moved, added or deleted. Routes are then downloaded to usb stick to be used in vehicles. Completed driven routes can then be uploaded back into the app to be compared to the planned. SQLLite used for local storage.

Tool DispenserAugust 2014 – November 2014A simple Windows (C#, Visual Studio) touch screen app to operate a tool bit dispensing machine. The app communicates over serial RS232 with external hardware which controls solenoid valves and reads the status of proximity switches. This gives the app feedback to confirm if a tool bit has been dispensed or not.

Senior Developer at CM SolutionsJune 2010 – June 2013CM Solutions is a metallurgical company with an application named Cycad Process, which is used for modeling chemical processes. Cycad Process is a Dockable Windows App made with Visual Studio then using Dundas Libraries. The application has a Visio look and feel where process components can be placed on a drawing sheet and linked with auto routed lines. Views allowing component properties to be modified and other calculation parameters be set are available.
