The purpose of the class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment. Dancers also learn basic steps and terminology in all three styles. For example, all dancers will learn what a “plie” is and how to demonstrate one. The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies. The use of props such as maracas for the “freeze dance” makes the end of class the most fun!***Placement Notes: For the Twinkle Stars Dance™ 3-4 class, students must be at least 3 1/2 years old. Twinkle Stars Dance™ 4-6 students must be at least 4 1/2 years old. Dancers who begin at 4.5 may take two years at this level and/or add Show Stars HH/Jz during the second year. One dancer taking BOTH TW ages 4.5-6.5 (40 min) and Show Stars HH/Jazz Jr., ages 5-7 (40 min) will receive a discount. 80 minutes/week = $96/mo $81/month ($15 savings/month) Show Stars Ballet/Tap Dance Ages 6.5-8.5 & 9-13 in two levels Ballet Technique is the foundation for all dance styles! Ballet helps young dancers develop focus, grace, balance, and strength. Tap portion of class: Beginning level classes will focus on learning basic rhythm patterns including shuffles, flaps, stomps, and ball changes. More advanced skills will include the introduction of complex combinations focusing on speed, clarity, and intricate footwork. 55-minute class. ***Placement Notes: Must be 6.5 by September 1. Ages 6.5-7: One dancer taking BOTH Show Stars B/T (55 min) and Hip Hop/Jazz Jr. (40min) will receive a discount. 95 minutes/week = $100/mo $85/month ($15 savings/month) Ages 7.5-9.5: One dancer taking an hour of BOTH Show Stars B/T and Show Stars Hip HH/Jazz will receive a discount. 110 minutes/week = $104/mo $89/month ($15 savings/month) Show Stars Hip Hop/Jazz Dance Ages 5-7, 7.5-9.5 & 10-13 in three levels Classes will focus on turns, leaps, increased flexibility and strength and the development of style. All classes will have a strong emphasis on correct technique while allowing students to use their own styles. Hip Hop: Choreography will be similar to that seen in music videos. Moves are jazz based with a mixture of pop and lock techniques and street funk. 40-minute or 55-minute class depending on age. One dancer taking an hour of BOTH Show Stars B/T and Show Stars Hip HH/Jazz will receive a discount. 110 minutes/week = $104/mo $89/month ($15 savings/month) NEW! Voice Class/Musical Theater Grades 3-6 This 40-min class will help your child develop showmanship, stage presence, vocal and dance skills, useful in musical theater and the entertainment industry. Different musical genres and vocal styles will be explored including pop, jazz, musical theater and classical. This class offers numerous performance opportunities throughout the year as well as vocal and dance training. One student taking Hip Hop/Jazz Jr. (40 min) AND Musical Theater will receive a discount. 80 minutes/week = $96/mo $81/month ($15 savings/month) One student taking a 55-min dance class AND Musical Theater (40min) will receive a discount. 95 minutes/week = $100/mo $85/month ($15 savings/month) NEW! Dance Technique Levels A, B only 40-minute class. While you spend the majority of time at practice focusing on your routines, you shouldn’t forget to continue improving upon the most critical element in dance … TECHNIQUE! Technique is the basis of all fundamentals of dance, from holding your body correctly while performing, to executing skills properly in a routine. Strong technique extends across all areas of dance, regardless of the style of your routine. Whether it’s ballet, tap, jazz or hip-hop, there is always an element of technique that can be improved upon. Class will focus on turns, leaps, jumps and flexibility. FREE to a Level A or B student taking two of the above classes. Students taking one class add $30/month. Can only be taken as an add-on. Adult Tap Ages 16+ 55-minute class. Beginning level classes will focus on learning basic rhythm patterns including shuffles, flaps, stomps, and ball changes. Twinkle Babies™ dance class is a 27-30-minute introductory dance class that is unique and important in the dance industry. The secret to the class is that it is structured and fun! It contains ballet, tap and creative movement Young dancers learn the basic steps while learning how to follow direction and imitate movement in a positive environment. Engaging music is used to get these little dancers inspired to dance. The use of props such as “dancing bears”, hula hoops and maracas, enables the young dancers to use their imagination, creativity and, most of all, have fun! Students must be at least 2.5 to enroll.
