Student Performance Data

The assessment data in the tables on the following pages were derived using data from the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Evaluation and Reporting as of December 2012. Participation data are calculated using all enrolled students with IEPs. Proficiency data are calculated for all students who took the statewide Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT), Florida Alternate Assessment (FAA) and, for math, includes students taking the Algebra I end-of-course (EOC) assessment.

FCAT, EOC and FAA 2012 Reading and Mathematics Participation and Performance The tables on pages 2-35 display district level data for the 2012 administration of FCAT and FAA for grades 3-10 in reading and FCAT, FAA and Algebra I end-of-course for grades 3-12 in math. The table displays separately the number and percentage of students with disabilities participating in the (1) FCAT or EOC with accommodations, (2) FCAT or EOC without accommodations, and (3) FAA as well as the percent of students reported as proficient and higher. Districts are organized by enrollment group within the tables and percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number. For students in grades 9-12, enrollment figures include only those students enrolled in Algebra 1.

Participation in Alternate Assessment 2012 by Primary Exceptionality The graph on page 36 shows the distribution of students with disabilities participating in the FAA. The tables on pages 37-40 show the number of students by district and primary exceptionality taking the FAA during 2011-12.

Preschool Outcomes, 2011-12 The table on pages 41-42 shows the percentage of prekindergarten children with disabilities who entered prekindergarten below age expectations, but substantially increased their rate of growth by the time they exited the preschool program as measured by the Battelle Developmental Inventory-2 (BDI-2). Percentages are shown for each of three domains: Personal-Social, Communication, and Adaptive. The table includes those children who exited the preschool program during the 2011-12 school year. In order to be included, the students had to have valid entry and exit assessment scores for all three domains.

The table on pages 43-44 shows the percentage of prekindergarten children with disabilities who were functioning within age expectations by the time they exited the preschool program, as measured by the BDI-2. Percentages are shown for each of three domains: Personal-Social, Communication, and Adaptive. The table includes those children who exited the preschool program during the 2011-12 school year. In order to be included, the students had to have valid entry and exit assessment scores for all three domains.

*Number of students is less than 10 (including 0).

Unmatched = Child's entry and exit assessments conducted by different districts. Results are included in statewide calculations but not in individual district calculation.

N/A = there were no numerical values in the categories necessary to perform the computation. For example, if results for an outcome area were available for 3 children, and all 3 children were in category E, it is not possible to compute a value for Summary Statement #1 (c+d/a+b+c+d).
