objectives, using digital technologies to increase energy efficiency, facilitate emissions reductions and help in adapting to climate change
• Exploit ICTs as both a technical solution and enable of behavioural change to reduce emissions, including from ICTs themselves
• Encourage leadership from cities in adopting innovative technical solutions and in building new partnerships to achieve this
• Share public and private sector experience and expertise in deploying ICTs to address climate change, in cooperation with national, European and international initiatives

» Priorities for next 12 months:– demonstrating measurability, comparability, transparency and visibility– promoting energy efficient ‘smart’ processes– stimulating ‘transformational’ approaches to ICTs– driving new values and behaviour through innovation– providing vision and leadership: taking the lead on R&D– developing a roadmap for digital planning and ‘Smart Cities’– identifying benchmarks of excellence and good practice– setting up exemplar projects, securing funding, implementation
