DAY 1 OF FILMINGTUESDAY 8TH DECEMBER 2015

Page 2: Day 1 of Filming

• Today we filmed part of our opening sequence. My group and Lily Chapman went to our location, Islas house, to film our murder scene. We had to make sure it was dark so had to wait until half 4 to film. I think the filming went well and the group worked together nicely. We all got a chance to film, create lighting and have a say in the make-up, hair and costumes. Overall, we had a successful filming day!

COSTUME

• We wanted our murder scene to look as real as possible so putting the character in everyday clothes allowed us to do this. Using an old white top gave us an opportunity to rip it and cover it in blood. The white signifies the innocence of the girl and how she did nothing wrong to be in this situation.

HAIR AND MAKEUP

• We want our opening sequence to look realistic so using effective hair and makeup will allow the murder scenes to look more lifelike. Ideas came from various Pintrest pages! I made an account with different ideas:

• We used this when deciding what hair and makeup we would use when filming our opening sequence. After discussing with the group about what the dead person to look like, we decided to go with a black eye on the face and bruises and cuts on the stomach. Devyani did the makeup making it look believable with eye shadow and fake blood. For the hair we went simplistic, combing Lily's hair back to make it look messy made the murder look more believable.

PROBLEMS WE ENCOUNTERED

• Lighting: After taking a few shots we felt the outside light was far too bright so compromised and used flashlights, I feel this worked better.

•  It was freezing! Filming on a cold night in December was hard especially for our actress (lily chapman) as she has to lay on the floor. There wasn’t much we could do so we tried to make the filming as quick as possible.

• Continuity errors. After looking at the shots we had taken we realised some didn’t add up to one another so had to film parts again. This happened mainly due to actress laying down on the cold floor. She kept moving her body which wouldn’t add up in the final piece.
